MY B SERVICE RECIPT

Posting this just to make sure its correct and so you guys can see if you have one coming up. Apparently my transmission does not have a TC drain this why it shows 6L in case anyone asks about it. total cost was 1221.97$ bit pricy but I want the car for a long long time.

I'll have to go back and take a look at my last one. I believe it was $639 or so...but I don't recall anything with the transmission being done.
...also in Alberta, so don't have the crazy taxes that you paid...lol...

I told you $350 or whatever for transmission seemed like what they would charge for 6L without TC lol. Time to fight with them about missing 3L.

UPDATE

so i spoke to the shop Forman at MB they stated there is no drain on my transmission. So the only way to completely drain it would be to take the whole transmission off which is a ton of labour costs. Mb stated that if you do your service every 60,000km it should be enough to basically clean itself out thats why they have the service every 60,000km and its not at 120,000km like older cars.

any thoughts on that?

They're probably lying. Have them put the car on a lift and slowly rotate the engine while you look though the service hole. Make sure they do it with a wrench, not by bumping the starter. Its hard to spot, but it should be there. Or you can go into EPC and look up your VIN. The transmission will show a drain in the TC. A0019901117 for the part number for the drain plug on my '12 c350.

Well you have a '12 c300, and its a 4 matic, so you'll have a 7g transmission intead of the 7g+. However from previous threads on this the dealer is almost always wrong when they say there is no drain. They just don't want to do it.

is there a layout/ picture of where the TC is so i can print it and call BS on the dealer? or a step by step for my transmission and not the one in the sticky thread?

If you have a US built 2012 C300 4Matic like I do, then you likely have 722.9 7G Tronic. 722.6 is apparently 5G Tronic, highly doubt you have a 5 speed?? If we do have the same one then the plug is definitely there, for my service they didn't deny it, they just flat out lied and said they don't have the tools to drain the whole system and tubes and everything when I was only asking about the TC.

I know there is a WIS document specifically stating they should drain the TC as part of the transmission fluid change. Don't have a copy though. I'm still years away from needing that service.

Oh great, good to know the local MB dealership is either lying or doesn't know **** about transmission services.

You have a 722.9 transmission, (722.964 specifically), which has a drain for the TC. Go back and insist they do it properly, tell them you'd like proof that there is no drain if they give you problems. I'm getting really tired of hearing about idiotic dealerships not doing things properly.

edit: Here is the document as of sometime in 2011. See step 6 on page 5 specifically.

If you don't mind, you could you PM me who your SA was? I'd like to know, so I can avoid them whenever I need to go there.

i emailed them the stick thread and a few other and a DIY service of our transmissions so we will see what they say but the want proof that it needs to be done so i need some legit documentation. such a waste of time and who's to trust they actually do the service its ridiculous

but it legit seems to me they don't know how to drain it.... as its not a corporate dealer in london... but i called mississauga they said the same thing no you need to take the whole tranny down to change it when i know its BS

ill email them that pdf. see what they say about it

Take a look at the service manual. The service manual suggests 39K miles for the 7G and 80K miles for the 7G+ if memory serves me. Even if my numbers are off slightly it is definitely in the service manual.

On the 722.6 in later production they stupidly removed the TC drain & brought in the flushing procedure which is in the Wiki (dumb beancounters to save a few cents & turn the job into a nightmare). I have yet to see a 722.9 without a TC drain. I suggest you take a look yourself.
