Lane assist camera without the feature??
My 2013 C300 has the lane assist camera in the windshield but I do not have the feature listed in the menu. I only see driver assist in the menu.
Why is it there and what is it used for? I do have bi-xenon headlights. Is that what is using it?
You can see the camera in the windshield here

I see...yeah i see the rain sensor which is just 3 dots. The other thing has a camera in there or at least i can swear its a camera. I guess the active headlights is using it to move the headlight position when on high beam according to the oncoming traffic....
I would have been cool if i could have enabled lane assist through the engineering menu since the hardware is the same...

Got it. So the Camera is already there! Whats it take to get lane assist feature then? Is that something MB needs to enable? Any idea on the cost?

There are 2 types camera's, One only for the lights and another for the lights and lane assist....
To retrofit lane assist you need an other camera, you need another steering module (so it vibrate when you cross the line )and coding.

And the vibration motor for the vibration function. The steering control module is also different.

You need to get the lane assist coded into FDOK at Mercedes HQ, then you can have the dealership do the vehicle coding. I retrofitted the Intelligent Lighting System, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Assist last year.
