Yesterday my car's aftermarket camera failed to work and I thought that the connection was loose. I opened the trunk this afternoon and removed the liner and was surprised to see burned wires which was the coming from the camera. Thank heavens that the car never caught in fire and the sam unit was undamaged. I have another power source cable but now I am thinking the gauge of the wires cannot withstand the continuous power it is receiving, am I right with this one? So to those who installed aftermarket backup cameras check your cables as you might end up burning your w204.
Yep you need to up the wire size or get fire insurance---read the camera specs again and again for wire size recommendations---or call themfg for suggestions!!!
