Parking Sensor DIY question - rear sensor placement

I've been doing a lot of searching on the forum regarding adding sensors. Several folks have stated the bumper has to come of due to metal behind the bumper skin.

I just crawled under the car and looked, and i see metal below where MB mounts the stock parktronic sensors (which i guess would make sense since MB sensors are bulky as well and wouldn't mount with metal behind them).

Anyway - has anyone done this without taking the bumper off?

The car is a 2013 C300 sport. The stock locations for sensors is here:

And i'm looking at this setup (cheap at $ 20.00!)...

Amazon.com : Docooler Car LED Parking Reverse Backup Radar System with Backlight Display + 4 Sensors (Grey) : Automotive Electronic Security Products : Automotive Amazon.com : Docooler Car LED Parking Reverse Backup Radar System with Backlight Display + 4 Sensors (Grey) : Automotive Electronic Security Products : Automotive

Would love to find "smaller" sensors which look more OEM but no luck thus far.

Anyway - if anyone has any input please advise...

thx
