Windscreen Wiper Issues

Had my C220 for two months now and I've experienced the following problems with the windscreen wipers:

• On one occasion, during very heavy rain on the motorway, the drivers wiper blade hit the passengers wiper blade causing it to lift off the windscreen. It didn't break and I was able to reset it to its natural position.

• Since then on the odd occasion, the passenger wiper blade fails to operate however the drivers wiper does.

• During light drizzle the wipers sometimes go haywire and operate at their fastest setting

• During moderate rain the wipers fail to recognise rain on the windscreen and it gets to the point where I have to manually operate the wipers.

• Juddering and smearing on both wipers

• Loud clunking on every stroke when the wipers reach the normal down position

As you can see a plethora of issues.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the issue I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks

Mine smear on the driver side as well. When the blade gets to the edge, the water flowing up the windshield on the edge is attracted/the wind forces it into the blade again, and it pulls the water right in my line of sight. Can't find anything about a fix for this either.

Otherwise my blades are silly smooth.

If your blades smear, it's usually a sign that you need to change them....

They do not technically "smear." It is more like water from the edge being pulled across the windshield from wind forces. The wiping going up is perfect, but going down is when this occurs. It is hard to describe, but once it rains more i'll try to get a video of it happening

Schlitter, exactly the same issue with me!! The blade just brings the water back to the driver side windshield. I just changed my wiper and it still happens. MBUSA needs to issue a service bulletin with their wiper arms adjustment and blades!! The W204 loaner cars I used before, had this issue as well.
