Bulb running hot. Is it normal?

Hey everyone, it's my first post on this forum so please bear with me. So I recently switched out my OEM halogen lights to the Philips Diamond Vision 55w H7 5000k bulbs. After awhile I touched the headlight assembly and it was burning! I was wondering if this was normal or is it something I should be worried about. I hope it won't affect my car in any way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Running 55W bulbs will produce more heat and you run the slight possibility of burning your projector bowl. It can also melt the harness and mess up the electrical there. Look into getting 35W hids and you can get the same light output at a safer method.

A 55w H7 bulb is the correct bulb for the OP's headlights so why is he going melt his wiring harness and possibly burn his projector bowel using the correct 55w H7 bulb?
It's possible that the Philips Diamond Vision 55w H7 bulbs may run a little hotter than the stock Osram H7 bulbs, but I have not read anything about these Philips bulbs damaging projector housing or melting a wiring harness. I have been running Osram Rally 64217 H7 65 watt "off road use only" bulbs for my high beam and low beam headlights for nearly a year now in my '13 C350 with no deleterious effects whatsoever.

But shouldn't I use a recommended 55w voltage instead of a 35w?
