Post Parts Lifespan

Hello folks. I've done a little research with now actual results on this. So I turn to your knowledge.

It was recently came to my attention about the timing chain and its lifespan. This raised a question of what other car parts should I be aware of that must be replaced after some time or miles. ( i prefer Km though)
Also I think we should create a list like that just to be around for new owners or just people who don't know what to be aware of.

P.S for the timing chain I was told that it should be replaced at about 150,000 miles. I that correct?

I was unable to find any communication from MB that suggests all timing chains should be replaced at 150,000km.

Now there are many different philosophies regarding when to change parts---Therefore I don't think there is a reasonable answer to creating a list of suspect parts other than what the manufacture suggests

yeah that's what i thought but i was wondering if someone knew better. Its reasonable though for parts like that. I believe it depends on how you drive. anyhow thanks!

I bought a used 2009 C300 W204. I bought the car because my co-worker had the same year and same model car and gave me stellar recommendations. Within two weeks the battery died. Two days later my co-workers identical car battery died too. So the battery lasts about 6 years then.

They last from 4-6 years according to my SA. My battery for the 2012 died after 4 years and 1-2 months, yet my fiance 2010 is at 5 years and 4-5 months and is still ok.
