2011 C300 Starting issue
Alright, so I have searched and read as much as I can find and still have a question for the experts.
2011 C300 key to crank position and nothing. Steering lock works. I find the starter relay, the green one in the underhood box, has no power to the #30 blade. I cannot find a bad fuse in either fuse panel. I jump B+ to the #30 wire and the car starts normally. Anyone know where the relay gets it's power?
Thanks All

I suppose it's possible this is the only one that's done this but it seems kind of unlikely. Anyone maybe have access to a wiring diagram, I can take it from there.... Or a suggestion where I can find a diagram.
Thanks again

That would likely be an EIS issue. Just because the steering lock is ok doesn't mean the EIS hasn't stopped working. Only way to tell is to take it to a shop that has a STAR diagnosis and have them do an EIS test. It is best done with both keys present.

I understand, is the failure mode when the EIS malfunctions a loss of power to the starter relay? Or to put it another way, does the system drop power to that relay to inhibit starting.
I can start it and the car operates normally by powering that relay.

Anyway, I have it working fine since this problem. I would be happy to share how I fixed it but not until I find some good tech info to confirm what was causing the issue. I don't want to steer folks in the wrong direction.
