Transmission cooler lines

How much slack does the rubber end have?
I also wonder if the metal end is flared. Usually if someone is installing an aftermarket tranny cooler the kit will have some sort of flared line to splice into the existing hose.
If you look at this: https://www.google.com/search?q=flar...jGnHY6r2b7M%3A
you'll see that you could theoretically cut that whole junction thing out and just splice that thing in...

Got an o-ring replacement from Benz ($4) and slid it into place inside the female connector, reconnected everything and drove around. Still a slight leak, UGH! Must be something with the actual hard line or the female connection on the inside??? I dunno but next step I guess is to just cut the damn thing off

Glad to see you sleuthing this and trying to fix it yourself! Seems like way too many people on here run straight to the dealer when a problem arises.. :P

It's fun and I don't really trust the dealer. Anyways I just cut the soft hose and removed the metal joint. Got some transmission oil cooler line from NAPA for $3 and a metal splice thing to join the new line to the old. Picked up some constant tension hose clamps and threw it all together and so far so good *crossing fingers* Oh btw, the two cooler lines are around $90 each from the dealer.
