Rear brake light recall=Both rear light assemblies
Rear Brake light recall one side:
I just today inspect the right side rear brake light pins. As claimed the earth pin was slightly melted plastic, not much as I saw on other photos. I rarely used the foglight, or drive at night, or with lights on.
When I however inspected the left side assembly, I found excactly the same condition on earth pin. I just finished modifying both sides.
Have a look and see how yours are doing on the other side.

Thankfully the solution is easy. I personally didn't go with the MB fix. Some posts including one from an MB tech indicated similar or same hardware, i.e. same likelihood of failure. I checked EPC and while there's a new carrier, the harness connector remains the same telling me it's the same sized pins.
Instead I used a heavier-gauged wire and did the simple fix below. There were unused grounding points on the body at both sides. Of course make sure you have good contact with the body as it's painted.
