Problem with audio controler knob

On my 09 C350 the audio controller knob(on the counsel) stopped wokiing as it should. It functions by moving side to side and up and down but does nothing by rotating. Hoping there is an easy fix. Any thoughts?

Yes, there are easy fixes. There is a long thread on it that is frequently on the first page or two. Ironically, the first response is someone saying to use the search, lol.

I think the easiest one is to super glue the shaft.

I'm trying to decide on whether to take the unit apart and epoxy the shaft that breaks, replace the unit, or buy a metal replacement shaft from a guy in Germany (51 euro/56 USD) yikes! He must machine them one at a time.

Try searching on SearchTempest.com for W204 part outs! Chances are someone will be able to sell you one for 40 or 50 bucks!
I have a number of a place that had a part out car last month, I will post their number tomorrow!

I just fixed mind last week with the help of this forum. It's pretty straightforward. I actually took it apart in the car instead of cutting the wire, took a bit longer but worked fine with some two part epoxy. Horrible design by MB, not sure what they were thinking.

I agree. I'm guessing they gave design criteria and it was contracted out minus the look.

Call them if you don't want to fix it. They had a W204 they were parting out, guaranteed to have the command knob.
