Wiper blades

Wiper blades
Has anyone experience their wiper blades agitating. The service department told me that all the new models do this. They said that the wiper blades no longer have a metal blade in them which causes it to agitate.

Not sure what you mean by 'agitating', but I replaced the blades on my car with Bosch Aero Twin units, which are effective, quiet and work smooth as silk. Pretty sure there was a recommendation on this board that led me to those.

Sorry but that's crap. New blades should flow smooth on the windshield UNLESS you have some type of chemical or greasy/oil type film on it. My wife's new Honda has metal inserts in the blades so not sure who they are categorizing in the "all" statement. You can always try cleaning the blades with some alcohol and the windshield as well.

My wiper blades are brand new. The dealer replaced the arms, motor, adjusted the arms and applied rainx to stop the chattering. I went to auto zone yesterday to try a different brand of wiper blades but they did not know how to install them. They said that Bosch ion 24OE would fit.

As I mentioned before, the dealers info they are providing you does not sound good. Once you mentioned they applied rain X, then I was convinced. Clean the windshield as well as possible with an ammonia based cleaner and alcohol if you like. Be careful not to get to much chemical on the blades themselves. I feel the problem lies on the film of the windshield. Especially since you mentioned they replaced the arms motor and blades. Not sure what else is left??? https://mbworld.org/forums/glk-class...er-blades.html

I've had more issues with wiper blades on this car than I have had on any other car in 30 years of driving, lol. Even with Bosch blades.
I'm not sure what's so different about Mercedes wipers.

The blades on my car have skipped since day one. MB has bit of a design fault somewhere and don't seem interested in correcting it, since I hear new E classes have the same problem.

I bought these brand new from amazon and still had wipers skipping across the windshield. I am willing to try ANY blades that won't streak and agitate.
Same. Replaced blades first time through the dealers and they still skipped, when I told them about it a few months after install, they didn't care.
Same. It's pretty embarrassing when you have passengers and your blades are loudly smacking your windshield.

Count me in.. my 2014 wipers suck. The dealer has been working with me but we can't get them to stop chattering. They've adjusted the arms, cleaned the windshield, replaced the blades. I had a 2016 C300 loaner with 100 miles on it and it was the same way.
It is very irritating. My 2005 and 2011 C-class cars did not have this issue.
Right now they're waiting for the warranty rep. to see if they can install the arms/blades from older C-class on my car.

People getting wiper chatter: Has your windshield been treated with any sort of rain repellent coating? RainX, Aquapel, etc
I think these might make the chatter a bit worse, especially in just light rain. I've treated my windshield with aquapel, and I can get the wiper chatter quite badly, even with new wipers. My mothers car has not been treated with aquapel and hers does not chatter at all, even with worn out wiper blades.
I can't tell if it's the aquapel, or the fact that my windshield is quite sandblasted/pitted in comparison. I'm sure it doesn't help any

The shop foreman thinks it is a result of the new wiper design that the 2014 cars have. He has ordered the old style arms and blades for my car and wants to retrofit them to see if that will make me happy.
I'll report back.
