c250 vibration at 2.5k rpm with bms intake

my c250 has recently been vibrating on 4th gear and above between 2.5-3krpms

I removed the bms intake and took the car in for warranty service but the symptoms stopped with the original intake and the dealer couldnt find anything wrong. With the intake back the vibration is back... I swear i feel a loss in power too during the vibration.

anyone have any ideas?

Yes. Is your intake rattling?
Is it ONLY in 4th gear?

Which heat shields are close to the intake?

Thanks for the reply!

The intake is secure it cant move, it doesnt touch anything else.

its 4th gear and above, 1-3 arent affected.

So if she's in neutral, no noise?

Also, is it RWD or AWD?

The BMW intake filter was known to rub towards the bottom of the intake box, I'm not sure if they adjusted the filter size since then or if that's the cause of your problem but maybe start from there.

For sure, symptoms really seem like something is rattling that's all. Problem is finding it!

It's been a while since I had mine installed but I think the problem was towards the bottom of the filter. However, i could also be the filter itself hitting your hood. How far onto the pipe did you install the filter? Try adjusting how far on it's installed. Remember the silicone part of the filter makes it possible to shake around under load.

it sits at least a good centimeter above the nearest surface. and i tightened everything. But maybe i'll try angling it higher a bit more.
