Mine is 2013 c300 Canadian version
driver side mirror is opening too far after car wash
I went to the dealership they said I will need to buy a new folding mirror assembly which will cause 800 plus tax
also they mention it could be the broken relay.....don't know where it is and if that's the case
I tried to fix it myself by opening up the folding mirror, sprayed wd40, etc....
the assembly is one unit can't be disassembled....
so I am not sure if anyone has any ideas how to fix it or had similar issues, please help

Before shelling out mucho cash at the dealership, check your local wreckers, Kijiji, Craigs List and ebay for a mirror off a wreck.


There are many things I'd rather spend $800 CAD on and a mirror is not one of them. You should be able to find one off a wreck pretty easy I'd think.

Also, the assembly is more than likely repairable, but may require some skill.

Do you know how to diagnose and fix/resolder/replace electrical components?

Funny , my darn passenger did that last week just once and corrected itself when I turned the car off and back on again. If you turn off the folding mirror does the mirror sit in the right position? If so I would not bother changing it. IMHO
