Sidemarker Lamps Falling Off
My 2010 W204's sidemarker lamps have now popped off 3 times on the driver's side and twice on the passenger side. Each time the outer part of the lamp housing (the reflective part) pops cleanly off on the outside while driving, and the wire that runs and secures to the bulb still remains connected to the inner casing.
I have tried multiple different aftermarket sidemarkers such as this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-08-11-MERCEDES-W204-WHITE-LED-SMOKE-BUMPER-SIDE-MARKER-LIGHT-LAMP-NO-ERROR/152235724229?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3D8d0aebc2792940c39bdae2be6f2673ed%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D122017871668
and this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-08-11-MERCEDES-W204-C300-C350-SMOKE-BUMPER-SIDE-MARKER-LIGHT-CHROME-BULB/172347903959?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3D8d0aebc2792940c39bdae2be6f2673ed%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D7%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D122017871668
And I put the original housing back on as well.
Still the same problem.
Could it be the bulb (i've used multiple different bulbs) inside the housing is overheating it and causing the outer reflective piece to become weak and pop off while driving over a bump?
If so, how do I solve that problem?
Is it something else?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If they're not OEM bulbs, then I would suspect that too. After 2 times, I think going back to OEM spec bulbs would be logical. Alternatively, you could've installed them wrong - putting extra pressure on the outside edges. I think you would be able to feel whether or not they go back in properly though. Good luck!

I would look into different LED bulbs that don't burn so hot - probably not good they're that hot anyway. Someone on here is a vendor for LEDs - maybe check with them.
