Sunroof issue
Well.. I need some help.
Basically, last week, the sunroof was stuck in tilt position. I couldn't get the roof to move at all. All it did was make that clicking switch noise and nothing. So on Friday, I brought it across to the dealer thinking it's just an alignment issue and they managed to clear the faulty lock which was preventing it from moving. However, unfortunately they were advising that it opens fully and tilts up ok, but when closing and tilting down, its like stopping intermittently until it is closed.
The dealer than said that I needed to make an appointment to come back another day to have it looked at again. So currently, Im stuck with this problem until the 6th of Dec, and I'm pretty sure either they are going to reprogram it and charge me an arm and leg or come up with some crazy stuff.
Any way, I made a video of it to help understand what is happening.
I'm just wondering, have any one had this issue before? It does not seem mechanical fault at all. I mean, the sunroof was not used very much at all so railing is pretty clear.
joe.... Can someone help me out?

Have you tried resetting it? Can't hurt. Press and hold the switch down till it opens fully and keep holding for a few seconds. Then do the same while it closes.

I didn't mean to be rude or any thing but I did bring it to MB and took their advice and I'm going to be bringing it back there on the 6th as per the appointment. I did a search on the forum and in youtube, Google and nothing like this was experienced between the community. So I'm not too sure what is wrong with this post with recorded video explaining what my situation is and to see if others have experienced the same thing. May be I haven't explained fully that I have tried almost every thing I could find in internet to my ability. Like trying to reset it by holding 5 seconds on each ends etc...
And lastly, I did not state that I don't like the MB advice on my previous post. Just would like to know what the problem is before bringing it to the stealership.. and why would I bring MB car to a Ford dealership. That would be silly isn't it?

Nothing wrong with what you said, thats why I said awkward to his post.
Like I said I'd try some searching but not many of us have experienced this before...

Thanks for that Adi and Jim..
If that's the case, I guess I'll have to wait till I bring it to the dealer on the 6th.
Did it take long for them to reprogram it? The car is out of warranty so I'm assuming some kind of charge is gonna happen.

Ok.. So here is the update.
I brought the car into the dealer again on the 6th and after waiting around for about an hour, the service advisor came back and said, it just needed a complete flush and reprogramming of the sunroof program. They've lubricated the railing and its working fine now. Good thing is that, they didn't charge me any thing. They even washed the car. It's something I didn't really expect of the dealer. Really good of them. (I have been keeping service with them)
