HID Conversion Dust Cap

What's up y'all?

I'm interested in converting my stock halogens headlights into HID. I've been researching this topic for awhile now and I'm ready to pull the trigger on it. But you see, one of my main concerns is condensation appearing in the headlight unit and so I'd really want to avoid drilling. Recently, I ran into these universal headlight dust covers. ( http://a.co/4xTrvOW ) I'm curious if these would work replacing the OEM dust caps. Would these lower the chances of condensation compared to drilling?

Much appreciated

Quality HID kits with include rubber grommets to seal the hole and prevent condensation from getting in.

I'd rather avoid drilling if I could. Is there another option? Thanks.

Duct tape close the opening? Kinda ghetto, but works. Replacement caps can be bought for like $15 if you're concerned about going back to stock. Not sure how well the fit would be with universal caps, especially since w204 caps are twist lock.

There should be enough room to shove the ballast (only if it's the slim) and igniter inside the headlight and keep everything internal.

Mine came with HID stock so I don't know if the halogen housings are that much different, but on the HID housings it looks like there's enough room to the sides of the projector mount to shove the components in so sit at the bottom of the headlight.

Not advisable to stuff full kit inside housing... No heat dissipation which can damage your kit, especially if it's 50w.

That is a good point. That would have to be a risk taken to avoid drilling.

I've replaced my halogen lights with an awesome HID kit and it comes with the rubber grommet already on the wires ... Been around four months and no condensation in the headlight housing so you shouldn't have to worry much bout that.
