Still no U.S. base prices. I think that's probably the most sought after figure right now.
Also....there are implications that all first deliveries will have airmatic which is a shame (for me at least). I hope I'm wrong. (I've read all the reviews I can find, and all the c300's seam to be equipped with airmatic, hence my concern).

Can we revisit why they got rid of the standard sunroof? thats pretty unbelievable for a luxury car. Also glad that the start button is standard.
I can see my build costing more than my current C350, even though I am willing to step down to a C300.

The RWD C300 will have the same engine as the AWD C300 which should be a nice bump from the 201 hp engine in the current C250. However, that fact makes me think the RWD C300 will be significantly more expensive than the W204 C250, around $2,500 or more. Currently, the W204 C250 is almost $4,000 less than the C300 but it also has a less powerful engine. The only difference with the W205 models is the AWD and I can't see how Mercedes expects to maintain a $4,000 gap just for AWD.

Folks,
I have the ordering guide printed from the dealer and they also sent me the 26 pages attachment on adobe Acrobat. I was a bit surprised about a few thing that I found out on the C400.. like not having sunroof stock(optional panorama for $1480 though).
It also comes with premium package stock ($2700 value). Airmatic cost $1190 and full LED headlights cost $750 extra(car comes with LED standard) but high beams LED ae extra.
Also, the dash only comes in one flavor (black ash), standard seat surface is leatherette black on black

I don't think you should draw any implication from how the review cars were equipped. I mean, the review cars were Euro-spec, some of them had engines that we know won't be sold in the USA. Review cars are typically loaded with all the options and I think that's the only reason Airmatic was on all of them. Besides, the new dealer guide also explicitly lists Airmatic as an option.

so keyless start and keyless go are 2 different things? man that's confusing. keyless start is listed as "standard", and keyless go is listed as a stand alone option.
also, the p1 package standard on sport version......i'll just stop there. i think some more solid info is needed to see what the heck is actually going to be available.
i know exactly the configuration of the car I WANT, but it's hard to figure out if there is a prebuilt version with a few add ons, or if they are all add ons, or...etc.
i want a c300 (not sure about RWD or AWD), p1, rearview cam, maybe 360 cam, interior/leather package, standard sport version without the actual sport package (don't want the lowered suspension, want comfort over performance)
my only dilemma with this config would be how do the 'standard' seats feel over the sports seats....from the pics the sport seats look they have a more number of 'tufting' ridges lol, don't ask me why i used that word, but that's the only difference i can see. if that is literally the only difference, being visually, then i'll be fine with standard issue seats. i'm afraid of the official sports package, not because of the seats, but the suspension. like i said, comfort over performance. at that point i would have to choose between the seat vs the suspension. the "sport" seat is only available on the actual sport package, and the standard seat is only available with the non-'actual sport' suspension. at that point i would defer to the seat comfort between the 2, which is more important to me that the suspension.
end of typing here. thanks for listening.

The thing is how many will Mercedes order without the sunroof? I remember when the C230's didn't come with a sunroof standard. The non sunroof cars were a hard resell. It's like not having heated seats. If Mercedes orders a bunch without the sunroof option then it's fine by me otherwise it's a 1500 price increase. To boot it the panoramic roof which to me limits the color to black as I am not part of the pano+white looks great crowd.

Check out the end of paragraph 2. He seems pretty sure that the first US shipment will be getting airmatic only.....
I know it's just one review, but this is where I saw that info about airmatic only.

Two shots of the C400 from the NY auto show - the car was not prominently displayed at all, no signs for it, nothing. You really have to stare at it and see it in proportion to not mistake it for the S Class. The lack of choices in the C400 model (no luxury packages, limited interior color choices, etc) is an issue for buyers who want the V6. I also wonder whether, with the 2016 E getting the new inline 6, whether this 2015 C400 is sort of going to be a one-off stepsister car with the V6 engine.

i see what MB's game is now; the base car is a "Sport" model, but really not. The 2012-2014 C250 was really a sport model and was cheaper than the luxury model too. Didn't have to pay extra for the rims, body cladding, lowered sport suspension, and the flat bottomed wheel. Now they are upcharging for the real sport (AMG body kit, rims, suspension, steering wheel, etc.) model...

Er, the 2013-2014 C250's have an optional "Sport Package," as well, that includes larger wheels on summer tires and other upgrades that are all cosmetic (including sports seats).
The only things lost in MB's strategy w/ the W205 Sport package is the lowered suspension and some "AMG body kit" things. Since most people presumably bought the sport line b/c it was cheaper and looked "younger" (vs. actually handling better in any objective sense), MB's strategy actually makes a lot of sense.... Certainly seems to be working for BMW....

i know the W204 has the optional sport package and dynamic sport package; but the base sport model had the lowered suspension, the sport body cladding, sport rims, and the flat bottomed steering wheel. I wish MB had kept that strategy; or at least made the base sport model look better...
