BMW Owner Considering W205....
Wanted to drop by and compliment you on an informative forum..
I am now 2+ years into 3 year lease on X3 and considering the W205.
Going to test drive the 300 this Saturday after having had a chance to sit in one and sniff around a few weeks ago. Wont be getting some seat time in a 400 till September I am being told.
Have owned BMW's for over 20 years (see sig) and did own a nice c240 back in 98 along the way.
So looking forward to the drive and also learning more based on your experiences as well.
I like the appearance of the vehicle and it seems to have a nice blend of Lux/Sport + 4matic I am looking for at this juncture in life.
Also considering: M235i, 4 Series Gran Coupe and Audi SQ5 and would you believe? A Cooper Countryman S All 4 too
So here's a question for you? Why in a vehicle the class of the W205, did they OMIT THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL???!
Cold Weather Option is the second box I check right after Sport Package..
So who made the call to ensure you can add fragrance, but not heated wheel? Frankly, I've grown dang accustomed to it and it's a nice feature living in the snow belt.
Was it a supply issue?? Oversight??

IMHO, I didn't even know heated steering wheel was an option. I am on my second w204 and I have not heard of a heated steering wheel option. Maybe for the luxury models and not the sport models. Living in the northeast, I wouldn't mind having a heated steering wheel for the Winter months.

Check with your dealer. For a very long time Heated steering wheel was a special order option only.
It may be a special order option. I don't know why it is, but I also miss my heated steering wheel from back in the day when I used to drive Nissans.

I don't recall seeing as an option at all. I've looked through the guides and never saw it. I myself am in texas, so not as concerned, but it seems for a car of this caliber it would be an option that would pop up early when "leveling up" the options.

Mercedes has been pretty cavalier about heated steering wheels on the C-class and even the E-class. There isn't one listed in the German price list. There is a normal sunroof them and a surround camera.
Note that the W205 isn't going to be as hard edged as the M235i and may even be behind the 435 Gran Coupe. The SQ5 is about the same size and price but it is a 4500#, 10" taller SUV. The interior and fit and finish of the W205 will make either BMW seem like a NYC taxicab. The S4 is more directly comparable in size, price, and performance.
