Even today most non-convertible/sport Mercedes have the "M" appear randomly.

My money is on the test vehicle missing it for ... reasons. But that many will have it later.

I'm told that in S+ drive agility mode (what I used) the transmission behaved that way. If I had used Individual drive agility mode, it would have been a closer manual mode that didn't kick down but still upshifted automatically at redline.

This isn't a test vehicle. This is a full on Canadian spec production model.
