Unhappy canadian w205 c300 mp2 worth it?!?!

Hey guys, need some advice..i am totally confused and struggling right now..

i am planning to order a w205 c300 4matic in canada,

MSRP: CAD 43,000

I have chosen:

polar white,
Cranberry red interior,

sport package $1,500
- amg exterior
- amg styling
- 18" amg wheels
- sport suspension
- tire rating

MP1 $3,700
- Rear View camera
- pano. sunroof
- COMAND Navi.
- Storage package

LEA - AMG leather Upholstery $1,990

P29 - Amg interior package $850

Active LED headlight - $1,200

Right now i come up with a MSRP $52,240
But i am struggling it worth $2,400 for mp2 or not.

MP2 $2,400
- Satellite radio
- Ambient light
- 360 camera
- parktronic
- illuminated door sills
- keyless go

What i am really interested is only the "Ambient light",
I don't really care about parktronic and 360 camera coz i got rear view camera already.....for the keyless go...actually the keyless start is available as standard on c300...mp2 just offer the keyless "lock and unlock" feature...

It would come up with a total MSRP near $55K before tax and other fees (estimated to be $64K on road)...

any advice??

I have keyless entry in other makes and love it. I know, you only save yourself from pressing a button on the fob. The only down side is sometimes you forgot where you put the key. And if you drive another vehicle without it, it feels like a 'chore'.

For 2 grand, I would say go for it. I have never regretted getting extra options in my vehicles. Only not getting enough.

360 camera could be useful if you parallel park a lot. Cheap insurance against curbing.

Lighted door sills would be cool at night. Since you like ambient lighting, might as well go all the way!

Tianbent, I was asking myself the same question. I was interested in the premium plus package (mp2) only because I primarily wanted the keyless go. Also unless things have changed very recently the 360 degree camera isn't available. I think I am going to pass on the package. I have to draw the line somewhere.

Thanks actually i got the keyless go on my old nissan altima ..it did bring me convenience. and i definitely agree with the downside you mentioned. sometimes i thought the key is in my pocket so i just got off the car and tried and lock the door..then i realized the key is on the car...

what make me struggled is that i already got a red leather interior..if i am getting a black or beige seat i would get the ambient light for sure...
plus the tax in canada is 13%...the package is gonna add $3k for me..it even shaked my decision.. i am asking myself why not getting a c400 instead coz the price is so closed after the mp2 is added on c300 (almost fully loaded)

it depends on how you value the package...since parktronic worth almost $1k,
keyless go would be around $500-$700. I am not sure how much would ambient light cost when stand alone...but my dealer told me that if i want the mp2 only because of the ambient light, but not the parking assist, then it is worthless..(he told me it is actually a very minor feature..it is all standard on e class and s class ).

IMO the MB canada didn't make good packages...
i think mbusa got so called "interior package" which includes leather seat and ambient lighting, plus the illuminated door sills...
In canada..i have to pay $1,990 for the leather seat and another $2,400 for interior lighting and illuminated door sill...and i am really not interested in the parking assist.............................;-(((

That is the million dollar question.

A loaded 300 vs 'base' 400. Damn this thing called the budget.

Something only you can decide.

My experience on car forum is that most people (like me) will tell you to spend more

Actually I would say no to HUD. We are not fighter pilots, you know. (Flame suit on!)

Airmatic you need to try it out.

See, I am helping you!

Seriously, 400 4matic has MSRP of 51,400. You have to decide if you want performance (400) vs luxury (your 300). Don't forget some options on the 300 come as standard on the 400.

If resale is a factor, 400 will retain the value better over the long run, assuming same OTD price.

I have been thinking for the past two weeks...
I ve even gone through every calculation..

C300 + MSP + MP1 + MP2 + partial led
= $51,450

C400 +MP1
= $55,900

there are almost exactly the same( exterior & interior )..
V6 engine $4,500 is the difference..

however, considering the factor that cranberry red leather interior for me is a "must"...if i choose c400 i need to get the c400 MSP which is $2,800...comes up with a $7K difference...and i am living in toronto..often driving 50km/h and not more than 110km/h...

if i am not choosing mp2 on c300, the difference would be $10k...so i can blow out c400 in my mind....such a dilemma

Well, you just have to take your 400 out at 3am once in a while on the 400/401/404/407/DVP to justify you spent that 7k wisely

Coming from a 335i convertible to this. I was considering that as well. But I pass on it at the end because all I needed was the keyless go.

Picked up the car last week

C300
Polar white
Premium Package
Sport Package
Partial LED
Amg Interior
Cranberry Red Leather

I preordered in May and I enjoyed driving this car everyday.

The Garage Door integration and the Keyless Entry are things that you will get used to and are useful. If you don't already have them then you can live without either.
The rest is mostly eye candy. The illuminated Door Sills and Ambient lighting look stunning at night. If you have the Burmester sound system then the Satellite Radio is a logical add on.
The Parktronic is not just the LED Bars front and rear, it includes the active parking system so that is interesting tech if you ever actually use it.
If the 360 Camera was still included that would make the package a no brainer imo.

thanks all for your reply...

I have chosen the mp2 as well..
I agreed that keyless go is essential if you have ever experienced it..
I got keyless go in my old car..so i think i would prefer in on my MB as well..
the garage door opener would be useful as well...

And i accepted the opinion that the 360 camera would be useful for parallel parking (even more useful than parktronic for me..lol)..plus i am very interested in the ambient light..therefore i chose to have it on my new MB..

since i am planning to keep the car for long...(not lease/finance)...therefore i think i won't regret if i got it...

i hope i made a right decision..

c300
polar white
cranberry red interior
amg interior
sport package
premium package
premium plus package
active led headlight

would get it on late January 2015 =((((

Good luck for all your purchase and congratulation to all new owners ;-)

Smile C-400 Winter Wheels and Tires

This is my first post on this site and enjoy browsing the informative posts.
I have a Dec 4/15 delivery for the C-400 in Polar White with the Sport package, Cranbury red interior and all the options except the Intelligent Drive Package and the Hud. I will use the money saved for all-weather floor mats and a cargo tray.
I was told that the 360 camera is not available, by both the dealership and MB Canada.
With the 19" high performance tires as OEM I will need good winter tires for this car as I live in Calgary, Alberta.
I want to downsize to the 17' wheels for the winter, but am having trouble getting precise specs for the wheels and tires.
Can anyone confirm for me if my information is accurate?

I am going to buy 4 Michelin X-ice Xi3 tires 225/50R 17 94H and put them on 7.0J x 17 H2 wheels with a 48.5 mm offset, 66.6 Bore and 5x112 bolt pattern. The car is too new to be able to verify this info with companies like Tire Rack.com.
Looking forward to the cars arrival. Thanks in advance for any info I can get!
