So I've been using the locate feature on the app, half the time it locates the vehicle, have the time it does not.

How does this feature work? Off cell or satellite? Wondering if the vehicle being underground would effect it?

Pretty sure it's a cellular network. I get spotty results too.

Your guess is as good as any...I'm able to lock/unlock doors...but it can't locate the car...even when the car is insight!!

... and the Send2Benz feature even works, so I can send locations to my car's navigation system from my phone.

I did get a location once, but haven't been able to do it again.

Yes, locate the car is totally unreliable, while other functions work.
Valet protection sent me notifications today, but cannot locate the car parked in garage.

You also must be within 1 mile radius of the vehicle for the feature to work.

It's been unreliable within 100 yards.

I was too generous by calling "unreliable"
I was standing next to car and it could not locate, so this means it is completely broken
However, I was able to unlock the car....

I just tried it again. The car is sitting in my driveway, and I have a line of sight view of it from where I am in my house. The MBrace app could not find it. All other functions seem to work just fine, but not the locate one.

I've tried the locate feature a few times and it has worked as advertised and it's very accurate. It works well if the car is within about a mile of your phone. If you're farther away, you'll get a message that lets you know you have to be within a mile.


Apparently this is an anti stalking limitation, not a technical one. However, I found that if you try to locate your car from the mbrace website on a PC, the mile limitation doesn't seem to apply.

I have the same thing on my Acura MDX. It doesn't work half the time either. Still half baked tech.

just to clarify why it is completely broken:
does not work from PC either, ends in a timeout. And I am not talking a single mbrace account: I have 2015 and two 2014 cars w/mbrace accounts


this must be something new, as it used to work perfectly few years back on my other car....

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the locate feature has been turned off by MB. When I got my C400 all mbrace features were working except internet radio. I called them and found that for some unknown reason internet radio on my account had been deactivated on their end. Once activated, it has worked since. If you haven't done so already, have them check your account to see if a similar thing may have happened to you.
