Sun Visor Cost Reduction !
Does it bother anyone, but me, that the W205 sun visors won't slide back to
block the sun coming from an angle, not covered, without that feature?
At certain times of the year, as I go out in the morning, the sun is at an angle that I have to slide my sun visor to the rear to keep it out of my eyes.
How much cost was saved by eliminating the rod that the visor slides on?
We can see all the upscale improvements in the W205 so why take this step backward?

They made the slider exactly the right size for my visor after I emailed and said the standard sizes were a bit off. It's very simple plastic and elastic, but in place, it is very unobtrusive and works well.

That would work but not on my $50K+ car. I would be embarrassed to have friends see what a cheapskate car company made my car. I can't imagine how that cost reduction got approved.

Mine was $46k, so in the same neighborhood, but I am much more concerned with not having blinding sun in my eyes than caring what anyone else thinks!

CR mentioned this in their review of the car. The visor does swivel to the side, which is helpful, but it is odd that they didn't build in an extension.

that's pretty disappointing. I don't think BMW's have it either as my rental 3s never do. On my E there are actually 2 visors... I guess this is where the cost cutting was done but it literally would have saved what? $2 a car? geesh.

Reviving an old thread. I noticed the MY2018 has the extending sun visor. Does anyone know if this fits a MY2016? Are the dimensions the same? If so, I think I'll be ordering at least the left/driver side visor and try to install myself. If anyone has tried this any tips or guidance would be appreciated!
