Side view mirrors adjust when in Reverse?
I noticed when I first got my C300 the side view mirrors would adjust to view downward when I put the car in R. But, this feature has stopped. searched everywhere in the settings.
Thoughts?

I'm talking from experience of older Benz models if the "M" button procedure does not work.
1) Make sure the passenger mirror is selected on the adjuster. If not the function does not work.
2) If all else fails select the passenger mirror & operate it to maximum in all directions. i.e maximum up & down in the vertical plane & maximum left & right in the horizontal plane. This forces the controller to relearn the parameters. Then reset it for normal rearward vision. This usually brings the function back to life.
As I don't own a W205 I can't check. Presume as with most recent models the function no longer appears in the convenience menu?

As Glyn mentioned in bullet 1 of his post, the most likely fix is to ensure the selector is positioned against the passenger mirror. This should be the easy solution, fingers crossed it's all that's needed

I concur with Glyn, just leave adjuster selected on the passenger side. When you engage reverse, the passenger side view mirror will angle down.
It works on my W205 and previous W204.

I just checked and, yes, the right side mirror will move down when the mirror selector switch is set to the right side position and the car is in reverse.

There you have it.
Caveats:
1) You sometimes need to try the procedure multiple times for it to remember.
2) On some cars the set up procedure only works with the drivers door closed which Benz omits to tell you.
3) If the controller forgets its max parameters the function will not work.
4) The passenger mirror must be selected for the function to work.
This function has always been a little clunky. My CLK is my first Benz where it has worked reliably without the odd glitch. The W205 will hopefully be better in this regard.

I had to get the dealer to reset the function. When I engaged reverse, the mirror pointed to the sky,not at all helpful unless I wanted to go plane spotting. It only took a few minutes for the service department to fix. No issues since.

I followed the procedure in Merlin1's post and it works fine.
This has always worked in my W208 and W204 as well.
That's weird that some folks' mirrors are pointing upward!

I personally don't have the memory option (M) but found if you select the passenger mirror, then put it in reverse and manually adjust it down park the car or do whatever maneuver. Next time you put it in reverse it will automatically move to the last know position.
