Regrets

OK, some of us got the perfect car, with all the options or color we want. Some don't, due to them not being available, price, or not knowing about them, or whatever the reason. Let's list them here so maybe others can learn from our "mistake" :-) Let me start first: should have gotten the premium package and gone with polar white instead of black

I think that this could be a very helpful thread; great idea! I think it would also be helpful to include the "Whys." For example: I wish I had chosen white because "It's too hot getting into a black car here in Florida," or "black is so much work to keep looking pristine."

I'm curious to hear some responses to your question about "regrets!"

2015 C300 Sport: Palladium, Premium, Multimedia, Leather, BLIS
I really don't have any regrets. I was undecided on Iridium or Palladium Silver, and went with Iridium. Both colors look good to me. I was also undecided about Burl Walnut or Linden for the wood trim ... went with the Burl which is fine. Also happy with the 5 spoke 18" wheel and tire option I have. Premium and Multimedia packages are, IMHO, worth the extra money, so I'm glad I have them both.

My regrets are about what I couldn't get with the car. I like the Sport/AMG package, especially the interior, but did not want the tighter Sport suspension on the car. In Europe, you can get the appearance package only, which is what I would have wanted here. Also, we don't get the color choices others have. The W205 is offered in some beautiful reds, but not here.

What I have is fine, but I wish we were offered more.

Yep, I thought about the why's, but forgot to put it in. And your reason about black was spot on. I had a 94 black BMW, then a black 08 BMW, and they look dirty so easily. So, I set out for a white C300 this time. But when I went to the lot, the salesman showed me all the base white models with all those funny looking wheels. So, I thought there's nothing attractive about white. Only when I came in to sign, I passed by a white one in the show room with the red leather seats and 19" black amg wheels. OMG, it was like having a hot on a sexy blond in the city hall when you just signed on your marriage certificate.

I would prefer black (or steel grey) over current Polar white but my last four cars were black, I thought it was time for a change. Black is so sharp, mistake on my part.

Similar to Stan I did not want the sport package, I would prefer the six in a C400 with 18" AMG wheels but they only available in sport and sport doesn't have the interior color I wanted? Std 17" for me but did save some money.

I do love the HUD, Premium, Multimedia and Driver Assist packages.

Edited:

BTW, only interior trim colors that are the same as the seats are black and beige. Maybe overlook by newbies.

I definitely regret not getting the multimedia package. If anything, it's mostly for the voice control. IMO, it's a pretty crappy experience when using your phone without the package. For the multimedia package, I honestly didn't test that part of it when I test drove the car. I tested voice control for GPS and it worked fine so I just assumed it would be there for phone functions as well.
If I had to stretch, I also wish I got the Blind Spot Assist and ParkTronic...the Parktronic mainly for the sensors and not for the Active park assist. I wish the sensors were offered separate of the Active Park Assist technology. Even for the sensors...I assumed they would be there because I was getting the Rear-view Camera, at least the back sensors...but that is not the case.

That's what happens when you assume...

I wish I had got the 19 inch multi spoke wheels rather than the standard 18 inch 5 spoke ones standard on the AMG Sports package. I also wish I had got the full LED light upgrade, rather than the partial one that comes wit the premium package. I didn't realize there was a differance in the lights, I thought it was just the adaptive software.

What difference is (or differences are) there in the lights, with and without the adaptive software?

Mercedes C250 Coupe
Iridium. Diamond and Palladium side by side comparisons at a nearby (9 miles) dealer narrowed search criteria (coupe, automatic were prior decisions).

No regrets (as the original buyer - I went CPO - spent mucho dinero on options).

Hell, I'll rarely use the sunroof, Sirius and the suite of electronics..............

Beautiful car (not as straitline swift as the predecessor)

Wish I held out to find the grey interior. Other than that, no regrets. I got the exact car I wanted. I AM glad I went with the C400 over the C300. The engine is fantastic.

I also agree with others and wish more interesting color choices were available in the USA. I would definitely pick a more youthful color if possible.

I have to ask.. Why the regret on the wheels?

None with the car itself. After all it's exactly to my spec being a build-to-order. Maybe not spec'ing the grey leather, but the car I test drove had it, and it just looked dirty even though it wasn't.

Still have a slight regret that I didn't buy another Jaguar XF in Sportbrake form, but it seemed silly to spend the same amount of money on an old model, with out-dated technology, that drank diesel like it was going out of fashion.

-Given that I have the bleeding issue and so my car went back to the shop in 1.5 weeks, I really wish I had gotten a car with leather.
-Also wish the salesguy had shown me the difference of the sports package and multimedia as I probably would have upgraded.
-I also probably would have upgraded to 18inches and gotten adaptive headlights (although haven't seen them first hand).
-Ultimately its hard for me to say what I'm missing out on as I've had this loaner for 3 weeks and only had my car for 1.5 weeks. The loaner does have the multimedia package and so I do wish I had splurged for that.

Again, I blame the sales guy. For the first time, I wish the dealership was actually trying to upsell me.

I thought I would regret not having the black ash trim but the car offers so many other things to enjoy I haven't given it another thought.

I would recommend blind spot. Great tool to have.

LOL, this is why I start researching early. I've got 14 months left on my lease and I'm already researching the next one. You just can't trust that you'll get a correct answer from the sales guys.

My salesman was great explaining everything. I had to tell him to stop since I did a lot of research myself. I see that getting lucky with a good salesman is half the battle.

My regret is getting it so soon. I should have waited until all the MB-TEX problem get sorted out. I have faith in MB dealing the problem. I just don't like dealer holding my car.

Now if MB 300 gets 360 camera in the 2016, then I will regret that. The car is small. However, I m lousy at parallel parking. Having a camera to help me align would be nice. I guess I will re-learn how to park the good old fashion way.

Have the light-grey fabric with Artico (MBtex) sides in my 2008 B class. I don't find that it gets dirty particularly-fast. And it shows dirt much-less than black fabric (where you would see every spec of dust).

When it does get dirty (mostly on the top of the door near the window), I use Armorall Orange Cleaning Wipes. They are meant for hard surfaces (plastic and such), but I accidentally discovered that rubbing vigorously with these cleans the fabric pretty well too.
