No album artwork over Bluetooth?
Hey guys.
I did another quick demo of a C300 while I make my mind up about ordering a C300 in June or doing another lease of a BMW product. Current BMW iDrive system streams music over Bluetooth and delivers extras such as track progress, cover art, etc.
You can also choose what playlist/album/artist you want to listen to over Bluetooth. Cadillac ATS also has this capability.
For some reason the C300 does not seem to do this over Bluetooth which is a bit confusing as for some reason I thought at one dealership I had seen it working.
Is this feature not available on the C300 even if Comand is optioned?

To get artwork and artist/playlist/genre/song choosing capability you need to plug phone into one of the 2 USB media port connections in the center storage console. Bluetooth alone gives you track/artist and song name but no artwork. This is true for my C400 without 'Command' and with Garmin SD Card navigation. I do not know if 'Command' premium option changes that scenario or not.

The 2015 335d loaner I had DID show album art over BT so apparently it has been added in newer i-drive.
Also the Cadillac ATS I looked at also did album art over BT.
It's not a deal breaker, just disappointing.

Maybe when the 2016 model is released a simple software update may add any new features introduced.

Although I am not expecting any such improvements one can always hope. Based on early teething problems with W205 I would almost definitely order a 2016 model year car as the timing with my current lease would work out to make it possible.
