So I've been playing around with the systems in the car today to get a hang of it... I've been left puzzled by 'enter destination'... which asks for..

City/Town, Street, House number

In the UK its normal to state;

House number, Street, Town/City

Why is the entry of these elements backwards?

If I say '55 John Street, Manchester' it gets it wrong, yet 'Manchester, John Street 55' works as outlined by the voice announcement.

It feels alien and my BMW asks for this in the correct (UK) order. Is there a way to change this or should it work whichever way I say it?

Most likely made after German standards, here in Sweden we use the same order, Town, Street, Number

it will be faster to start with the town, which will eliminate a lot of other towns, same for street and finally the number. More or less the same we use a map ourselves, which is obvious the natural way to find a destination.

True but in the UK we don't address things that way round. My BMW takes no., street, town. Why can't mb match the way people use the car rather than a logical data search approach which is computer friendly not people friendly!
