In built car wifi
how do I utilise the in built car WIFI on my phone. My phone does now connect to it but I can can't connect to it internet on my iPhone 6. Am I right in saying that this should be possible to connect as it is a hotspot?

The hotspot relays your internet connection. So.... Connect your iPhone with personal hotspot on. Then you're able to connect other devices to this.

Works well with my kids iPads.

If you want your car to use the phone's data then hotspot does not work. You need to establish tethering over a Bluetooth connection.
