External door lights question

On my new C300, I haven't seen the outside door LED's on yet. On my old C300, I'm pretty sure there was an on/off option for this in the vehicle settings, but I can't find that now.

Locator Lighting is set for on, and the external lighting delay function is set for 15 seconds. What am I missing? Do these only function when it's dark and the headlights are on?

I am thoroughly confused at this point.

Mine only light up when it's dark.

I open my door this afternoon and they were lit.

Mine work. My lights are set to auto. They turn on whenever the external lights occur so when I either use the fob or grab the door handle.

Hopefully they all haven't failed at the same time on the new car. Seriously though, do you have keyless go on the new car? I think it's a keyless go feature that only works in lower light conditions.

Just checked mine while parked in the garage (plenty of light, daytime) and the door LED's did not light. They do work at night though.

I recall seeing a setting for this and it was set to "on" by the factory/dealer.

My lights are set to auto, I have Keyless Go, and Locator lights are on in COMAND.

Neither the side mirror nor door lights engage when I open the door during the day. Also, the headlights are not lit then. I'll try unlocking the door with the remote after dark and see if they come on. If not, there may be a blown fuse and a trip to the dealer. Hopefully, they are on a light sensor and just don't engage until it's dark enough to be needed.

I can't find a separate control for the door handle LEDs. I played around with the locator lighting settings. If the locator lights are set to on, the door handle lights, mirror lights and running lights come on when the car is unlocked with the FOB or by touching the handle. When the locator lights are set to off, the lights do not come on. I think it has to be low light for the locator lighting system to come on. I couldn't test it because it's already dark here.

USER ERROR! USER ERROR! USER ERROR!

Okay, I'm an idiot. My wife had been using the car for the past week. I just went out, after dark, and it still didn't work. First thing I looked at was the light switch, which had been moved off the Auto position it's supposed to be on. I moved it back to Auto and, VOILA, all the external lights worked normally.

I can't blame my wife ... I'm not allowed to do that by prior agreement ... so I'll have to figure out some way of blaming Mercedes Benz for this and post a complaint on the appropriate thread.

And to further clarify, when exiting the car, my external locator lights only come on after dark.
