Cool OK I Confess...

OK so I confess...

... I'm warming to this car a bit.

Given all the niggles, jerky gearbox, some wind noise at 65/70+, paint nibs, an ill fitting seal on the roof rail, traffic info/sos outages, sat nav weirdness, key chirping... I did find myself quite enjoying the commute to the office and back today.

..must be getting old.

Still, the car is in the dealers for a couple of days from Monday. Lets see what magic they can whip up.

Sure you are in the right phase (bargaining)? Just kidding, this is the first thing I think of due to my background.

2015 C300
lol I'm in the angry - depression stage at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to get to where you are. I really am regretting my C300, and it's just become any other car to me. Maybe that'll change. I know the excessive wind noise definitely killed the honeymoon phase very quickly.

THIS is priceless. Sums up half the posts on this board, based on where people are in the process. Hadn't though how much this pertains to a purchase of a car.

take it back and complain!
I was just reading someone else's C300 unhappy list, MB has to get the feedback first hand from the unhappy customers: unite!

You may recall I said on an earlier thread no mb had ever won me over on purchase but over time I grew to love them, am so pleased it seems to be working that way for you!

Am settling with my c estate now after its very minor seatback malfunction and my hysterical reaction and missing the glk less.......but when i see one I still feel a bit sad mine has gone. Love the new toys like HUD, distronic plus 360 camera and airmatic plus the additional load length yesterday at Ikea......and I really like the chirping keyless start (standard in france, full keyless go is an option) sad but true. It chirps just the once.

The 250 engine is very quiet and much more refined than the 220 version in the glk, the 7tronic box seems no different. The fuel efficiency is not brilliant at 6.2l/100km about 47mpg in real money, the glk gave around 7l/100km. Published mercedes figs are 5.2l/100km not sure we will ever see that....but for a permanent 4wd it is acceptable. Still only done 3100km so it may improve. We had the old ils system in the glk and have hardly driven in the dark in the c so far but the led system seem better still a must have for me.

Burmester is fine not overwhelming but no buzzes or rattles. At speeds below 110km (70mph) the car is very quiet all round and rides wonderfully on good roads, smooth and luxurious. The suspension copes with rough surfaces well but you can hear thumps over bad potholed surfaces.

But at motorway speeds there is wind noise not air getting in through a poor seal but noise of crosswinds and air travelling over and around the car and I do think the reduction of engine and road noise means it is more noticeable. The glk had wind noise on certain occasions but it was overall a noisier car though still refined compared to the majority out there.

We had the navigation 20 on the glk so i am used to mercedes weird navigation systems but the garmin map pilot is heaps better, so like you I am warming more and more to the c, but the new glc is grabbing my interest but it does look like a c estate on steroids. Being able to clean the roof without using steps is a major c plus, our resident owl tends to leave a big calling card.....

Hope the garage sorts your issues out and you continue on your positive curve!

Thank you for your kind words. I'm hopeful but also realistic. I suspect 50% of my niggles are to be solved.

Personally, I am no longer bothered with the minor negatives. Next time though, I think I might get a class or two up (my research showed a more refined product line & quality control practice on the E & S Series).

I feel your pain...I have the wind noise issue as well (C400) and yeah...that new car high was gone in 2 weeks. I'm just trying to decide if I wanna take a $$ hit and trade it in for something else. If nothing else this is my first and last MB...

So much complaining and whining going on in this forum, that I'm nearly shocked when someone says anything remotely positive

I think I'm in the Denial phase of the grief cycle; hear no wind noise, saw no MB-Tex issues, hear no rattle or squeaky noises. Hope I stay in this phase forever...
