Dealer Pinstriping???
I'm 5 days out from getting the new ride, and the dealer (out of state) sent me a video/picture of the car getting loaded. In the video he mentions the dealership's detail shop decided to throw on some red Pinstriping to match the cranberry seats. I have yet to see the car in person, and I've never seen one with Pinstriping. It's a sticker and easily removed, but what does everyone else think? Keep it or pull it? Maybe add red calipers???

could be there was a scratch or damage on a door and the painted to a certain line then covered it up with pin stripe, Dealership will not do anything to a car especially one that is sold unless there is an issue, I would be concerned

I would have gone ape-sh*t if the dealer had decided to "customise" my bloody car, without my permission.
And if they WERE going to customise it for you, why not drop it 30mm and throw on some 20" wheels, while they were at it!

That pinstriping doesn't look too bad...are you sure you didn't actually pay for it as a "dealer extra"?
Pinstriping is for the older crowd though...

I would be furious if the dealer decided unilaterally to 'customize' my car, especially with pin stripes.
They'd be getting a bill for the removal, and the detail needed to correct any damage to the finish.

Not really a fan. For my W204 part of the sales conversation included me telling my sales person that I did not want any dealership emblems, dealership vinyl logos or a front plate and that adding any of those things without my permission would be a deal breaker.

I would be very concerned that there is a paint line, scratch or other defect being masked here.
If you're likely to drive it 3 - 5 years and then trade it in, and IF you like the red stripe, then don't sweat it, enjoy. (But DO use a paint thickness meter to evaluate the thickness of the paint on every panel just to be sure).
If you're the kind that keeps a car for 10 or 20 years and is really emotional about it.... I'd make them pull the stripes back off (AND also use a paint thickness meter to evaluate the thickness of the paint on every panel just to be sure). If you like the stripes, you can always have them put back on cheap enough later. But as least you'll know what is or is not hiding under them.

Double this ^^. The dealers not getting free advertising on my car!

Initial thought: The look is actually not offensive and is pulled off quite well. Not bad.
Thoughts after about 3 minutes: The pinstriping is distracting and the novelty has worn off. It's actually starting to slightly bother me.. Take it off.
+1 on going ape if a dealer ever tried to customize my order before asking. If you happen to like it though and it's not hiding a scratch, consider it a bonus!

Actually don't think it looks bad at all! It's so minimal and adds a little sportiness to the car. I think you are right, if you keep the stripe - paint the calipers red and tint the windows I actually think it would look pretty on point!
And shoot if the c63 came with a red stripe like this standard, do you know how many people would be getting this added on!

I'd tell them to 'throw' it in the trash and deliver the car I ordered

from the picture, i dont see any red pinstrip on your car. That said, the last place you would think, that would add mods is the dealership. I like my car in the genuine condition (but thats me).

Car delivered tonight. The pinstripe actually looks quite cool, as it matches the cranberry interior. No visible issues, so I'm really happy. The 205 is a huge step up from the 204.

I didn't think it looked bad in the picture you posted. I'm not sure I'd want it on my car personally, but it you like it, that's all that really matters. More importantly, enjoy your beautiful new ride!!
If you ever decide you don't want the pinstripe, it's pretty easy to remove anyway.

Pinstripe looks stupid, I would remove it.
