Anyone else tried to cancel MBrace for their W205?
Hoping MBUSA workers are lurking on these forums and can pass back the message we are not pleased... Anyone else have a bad experience?
They pulled all the following tricks across three calls (which were entirely obvious, which made it more offensive):
--no menu option to talk with an operator about your account (I just guessed "0")
--you can't cancel with the first person you connect (passed on to a "specialist")
--put on a long hold, and then the call drops (even though I was on a perfect land line). Of course you get a new operator and specialist the next time and have to start over
--constant attempt to distract you by asking how much you love your car, detailing aspects of your account you already know about, and pretending they had forgotten what you said you called about--"now, what can we help you with today?"
--they won't let you cancel until inside of 30 days (what legitimate reason would it matter to them if you cancelled earlier--it removes their associated costs earlier)
--they offer you a discount on the service to try and keep you [useful note for those on the fence about staying and looking to improve the deal]
--constant mentioning of "life saving features" and you have to hear and acknowledge a disclaimer (this is reasonable, but just jump straight to it)
--it doesn't cancel for 1-2 days, so if you call

I cancelled mine a couple of days ago. My complimentary trial was to end today. I was treated similarly, though not as badly as you were. The discount offered was small, around 15%, based on signing on for a longer term. Not worth it either way IMHO.

I called to extend my MBrace, but apparently signed up for the Plus and saw a charge on my Visa. I called and they were they most friendly customer service agents I've dealt with. Very prompt and the issue was handled immediately. They even told me I could re-sign for Plus and use it for a few days (if on vacation) and cancel immediately thereafter. Very helpful.

Where's my incentive to pay out of pocket to extend my mbrace service when 2016 owners now get it free for 5 years?
My "out" will be simple when I call MB Customer Service two weeks before my free mbrace trial ends...

Just called Mercedes Benz to cancel my "Bundle" service (mbrace PLUS & Mercedes-Benz Apps), and it was a piece of cake.
All I had to do was call 1-866-990-9007, and I even was able to set-up a future cancellation date 2 days before (recommended) my free 3 month trial ends.
