C450 shoppers.. what else are you considering??
Under or around 60k after essential options, what else are you interested in that would would compete against the C450 ? A similar thread exists with mostly C300 owner responses, so i figured i'd start one for those who have ordered or are interested in the 450 which is a bit more geared for the enthusiast. My list at this point is the following:
- 335i M Sport (current car)
- M235i
- Jag XE S
- Macan S
- S5
- SQ5
- CTS V Sport
- 335i M Sport (current car)
- M235i
- Jag XE S
- Macan S
- S5
- SQ5
- CTS V Sport

Thought about it but the base C63 with minor options comes out around 71 whereas a 450 with a few more options is 58... also, the real AMG will lease terribly while the 450 will most likely get very close to 335i/340i lease prices after introductory months. I'm guessing 60-62% residual and decent MF.

I would have also considered the new S4 and XE S but neither will be available for awhile. I fervently despise GM so an ATS/CTS was not on my radar.

I have some extra incentives to stay with MB, so for me it was:
C450 4MATIC
C63
E63 4MATIC
I would have ordered a C63 4MATIC in a heartbeat, but without that option it came down to the AWD C450 and E63. The E63 was tipping the upper limit of what I really wanted to spend, but the real deciding factor was the interior. The C Class interior really makes the E Class interior look even more aged than it is, and I really didn't want to wait around for the E Class reboot.
Even though I knew that I was going to be sticking with MB, I have looked at and researched a lot of interiors (including driving the latest S Class), and I would have to say that there is nothing in the C's price range that even comes close (Audi may get the closest, but I would take the current C's interior without hesitation).

So the new S4 finally got unveiled... and it seems Audi has copied the BMW formula (turbo 6, ZF 8 spd, ~3600 lbs, etc.).... the 350hp and 370tq numbers are probably a bit conservative so should give the C450 a good run... looks like a VW now more than ever to me, but should be a solid car.. thoughts?
