Locking keys in car

So it really is possible to lock the keys in the car. When the wife did this thankfully she was only 10 min walk from home so could get the spare key

Yep my wife left her handbag in the boot/trunk when we were at the Harry Potter experience in the UK, I suddenly realised that she did not have her handbag, car was still locked when we got back.

You can unlock it with the MBrace (US) smartphone app. I assume some version of that function is available in all markets. Doesn't help if your phone is also in the car, of course.

Interesting. I accidentally left the key in my backpack, which I put into the trunk. I closed the trunklid... and it immediately flipped open by itself. I tried again... again it opened. I thought "this is my first problem with the car".

Then I checked for my key; not in my pocket. Checked in the backpack; there it was.

When I took the key out of the car and closed the trunklid. Everything worked the way it should.

Maybe my software is newer? All I know is, in that instance, the car wouldn't lock.

this somehow happened to my car IN THE DEALERSHIPS HANDS while they were washing it.

had to wait 2 hours for their mobile MB roadside assistance guy to come to the dealership and unlock it.

i dont have mbrace and they wont unlock it for you unless you sign up and pay.

I really think this should be a service for every MB owner with mbrace compatibility, you call and they verify your name and social security # or something and unlock it for you

This is correct and how it should work though from memory try putting the keys a bit further in the boot, I think it closes then - it did with me BUT I was able just to click the boot open button which then opened the boot.
