Infiniti G35
First time C Class owners, which brand are you coming from?
Thought I'd start a fun thread for all of you who have recently moved from another brand to Mercedes Benz, apologies if there is another similar thread
I can answer the first question (Infiniti G35) but since I just ordered my C200 which will not arrive until Jan/Feb, I can really answer the others
- Which car did you use to drive before?
- What are the major differences (good or bad) you noticed between your last ride and new C Class?
- What's your favorite feature from your new C Class?
- What do you miss the most from your previous car?
- Would you buy an MB as your next car or switch to another brand?

I don't have my car yet either (late October), but I can answer some of the questions.
1. 2006 Acura TSX
2. Obviously more power and torque in the C63. My TSX handles just fine, but it's terrible off the line, and especially when I'm trying to pass someone. I'll be going from 200 hp to 503, and the wait is killing me.
3. Honestly, the feature I'm most excited about is the exhaust note, particularly the performance exhaust. I'm a huge techie, though, so I wish Apple CarPlay was available, but I guess not.
4. I will miss the big touchscreen navi that's in the center of the dash. The touchscreen got rid of a lot of buttons, but the C63 will have a clean looking dash, so I'm not upset. Also, the touchscreen took about 20 seconds to load up, so that meant any climate control adjustments had to wait.
5. I will most likely stick to Mercedes, hopefully AMG. The only reason I'd switch is if I was able to afford a nicer car, like an Aston Martin. I do want to get a manual car, maybe as a second car, so I'd probably be looking towards Porsche on the higher end or maybe something simple like a BRZ.

A45, Amarok, C63s Edition 1 wagon.
I don't have my car yet, either. It's being built in December.
1) I drive a Mercedes Benz A45 and a Volkswagen Passat R36. The C63s wagon is replacing the R36.
2) Interior quality of the C250 I've test driven is much higher than the A45. The C63s will have a lot more power than the R36 and will lose all wheel drive. This will be the most powerful real wheel drive car I've ever driven... and the first time I drive one will be when I pick it up!
3) The engine and the associated soundtrack.
4) I'll miss the R36. It's a great car. I'll probably miss the super responsive six speed DSG (the Mercedes 7 speed DCT in the A45 is terrible by comparison and I can't imagine the single clutch in the C63 is as good as the DSG, but I might be surprised) and having a touch screen sat nav. I'll also have to learn to wait a bit to get the power down out of corners, too, so I'll miss the all wheel drive in the R36.
5) If all goes to plan I'll stick with Mercedes Benz. I'm interested in their Amarok competitor...

1. 2007 Toyota Camry
2. More horsepower, more fun to drive, more comfortable to drive.
3. The engine and sound.
4. Much simpler to use electronics and cheaper to operate.
5. Will probably upgrade to E class AMG in 4-5 years.

Let me give this a try, currently 2015 C300:
1. 2006 Acura TL
2. TL sits lower and more sporty and fun to drive than C
3. Love Distronics and HUD
4. Missed TL's Touch screen and able to open windows at 30 ft away, V6 power and sounds
5. MB will be on top of my list but at least look at BMW, Acura, Lexus & Infiniti in that order.

1. My last vehicle was a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 V6.
2. Total different vehicle than the C300 of course, I like to switch things up every couple years. I have to admit the "luxury" options of the Grand Cherokee spoiled me...and ultimately swayed me towards the Mercedes instead of a more "performance" oriented vehicle.
3. My favorite features of the W205 is the styling of the car itself, that and the beautiful interior.
4. What I miss most from my old vehicle?...Remote start, heated steering wheel & heated rear seats, and audible "beeps" when parking.
5. I would buy a Mercedes again, but my next vehicle WILL have remote start, a heated steering wheel & heated rear seats, and audible "beeps" when parking...be it a MB, or a BMW 3 Series...or an Audi A4.

I've test driven the C300, but I'm a wuss and didn't really push it with the dealer sitting with me.

W205 UK C300 hybrid
1. BMW 5 series
2. C class feels smaller and not so solid, but has lots of niice features and is more of a head turner (especially in brilliant blue with amg package)
3. Pano roof, c300hybrid engine, headlights, some of the fancy tech, the massive difference in driving styles depending on how you configure, quality of paintwork and interior, burmeister stereo
4. I drive, comfortable sports leather seats, good economics (where I used to rest my elbow which I can't in c class), flawless reliability
5. Too earlier to tell although the c450 coupe looks tempting.

1. 2007 Ford Mustang GT California Special Convertible
2. Quality and ride level on a different level, surprised in the amount of responsiveness from an engine less than half the size of my previous engine.
3. Seems so simple - but the hand-free trunk option. It's the cheapest option that I picked and I love it!
4. The drop top - the panorama roof is nice - but never the same. Just a different type of car which I came to terms with before ordering.
5. If the defect levels lower and the excellent designs continue - I will definitely consider Benz in the future.

1. Which car did you use to drive before? MKV Volkwagen GTI
2. What are the major differences (good or bad) you noticed between your last ride and new C Class? Pretty much everything, but generally the overall sense of opulence inside the car.
3. What's your favorite feature from your new C Class? The overall design, it's just a beautiful car inside and out. I still get compliments from strangers all the time.
4. What do you miss the most from your previous car? Power. I had an APR stage 1 tune and the C300 definitely feels sluggish compared to the GTI.
5. Would you buy an MB as your next car or switch to another brand? Even with the door seal squeaking and wind noise issues, I would still consider another MB as I've been quite happy with the rest of the car.

2015 C300
I'll play
1. Which car did you use to drive before? 2013 C250, but before that, 07 Civic Si
2. What are the major differences (good or bad) you noticed between your last ride and new C Class? An overall upgrade, power, efficiency, comfort, and technology. But my last C class did feel overall a more "solid" car.
3. What's your favorite feature from your new C Class? The sunglasses holder LOL no lie
4. What do you miss the most from your previous car? My last car felt like a tank and just overall build quality is more assuring. I don't have any problems with my new car (for now) but overall just feels like a more flimsier car.
5. Would you buy an MB as your next car or switch to another brand? I like the idea of having multiple cars, so not sure what the "next' car will be but there will always be a Mercedes in my garage most likely. I do want a 13 or 14 C63 down the road

miketc, how would you compare the acceleration in your TL to your C300? I'm coming from essentially the same car (2007 TL). 0-60 numbers online say the C300 is quicker (which I would expect - little less HP, but more low-end torque and lighter), but curious as to your impressions.
I've test driven the C300, but I'm a wuss and didn't really push it with the dealer sitting with me.

I would not have brought the C300 if it was not zippy. I didn't get the C400 because I didn't want the Sport package.

Which car did you use to drive before?
Range Rover Evoque (still owned)
What are the major differences (good or bad) you noticed between your last ride and new C Class?
C Class is/has...
Smoother Ride and Engine
Finished with a more quality feel
Less comfortable
Way lower! (unsurprisingly)
Even worse actual rear vision, but better camera
Larger boot (estate)
A lot more fuel efficient
An annoying traffic sign detect that clears the whole screen
Strange Cricket noise in the dash
Too many controls on the left stalks
A digital Km/h Display?!?
Centre console too wide encroaching on my left foot space.
Eco mode that identifies when it will/will not work
What's your favorite feature from your new C Class?
Nav and better interactive system,
Sport+
Overall Fuel Economy
Larger Boot
What do you miss the most from your previous car?
Overall Comfort
Handbrake switch by your fingers
4WD and ground clearance
Would you buy an MB as your next car or switch to another brand?
Maybe, depends what takes my fancy.

2015 C 220 CDI
No way, C-class smaller than a 5-er
Nah kidding a side..
My previous was C63 W204. And yeah my god I miss it for all the obvious reasons such as power, sound and handling.
The 205 is ok...its a company lease, so economy is priority and it takes me from point A to B.
I like it because its QUIET ..... a lot compared to the old C class. The rest of the stuff/features are kind of nice, but the essential ones I already had in previous car...so its "meh".
What I dislike about it is:
-well known whistle/wind sound from the driver window
-I don't like the suspension too soft (avantgard, so not sport nor airmatic), even if its suposed to stiffen up on its own depending on the surface. It just feels like a boat.
-I don't like the seats either. Side support is lacking and I am having a tough time finding good seating position.
-I don't like the cheap look of the backside spoiler (no amg packet). No exhaust pipes sticking out....feels cheap...wagon looks more dull than sedan...but then again practicality strikes again.
-220 "old" diesel is not as refined as some competitors.
Thats about it...all in all I am satisfied with the car and it fulfills my expectations to 90%.
This is my 3rd merc in a row, so yeah I would definitely buy one again. Might re-evaluate that though after putting more miles in the 205, we'll see how it holds up.

I pushed it during test drive. The 0-60 number is correct; I found the C300 a bit quicker off the line. The TL shines at the top ends as expected between a V6 vs a 4 banger turbo.
I would not have brought the C300 if it was not zippy. I didn't get the C400 because I didn't want the Sport package.

I came from an Infiniti G35x 2008
Major difference would be power. The Infiniti was a beast. I really enjoyed the sound of the v6.
I like the look of the c300. The car looks great. Also really enjoy the quietness of cabine
I miss the power and car starter. Winter is coming and it will be my first winter in MANY years without a car starter
Maybe. I enjoy the car and have no complains so far. But we'll see what's available when my least is up. Might actually hand this over to my fiancé once her lease is up and I'll pick up something new.

Which car did you use to drive before?
- 2005 Lexus GS300, 2012 G37xS Coupe, 2008 Honda Accord V6 Sedan
What are the major differences (good or bad) you noticed between your last ride and new C Class?
-my 2016 C450 would not arrive til next week but I should be expecting a much better engine and better handling than the Japanese counterparts.
What's your favorite feature from your new C Class?
-Im hoping it will be the speed and agility of a performance Benz.
What do you miss the most from your previous car?
-They will most likely be more spacious than the current C-class design.
Would you buy an MB as your next car or switch to another brand?
-Yes, would like to get an actual AMG, preferable the CLS-class or the S-class. If not, Porsche and Range Rover are high on the list as well
