C400 Power Steering go-bye-bye

Anyone else had this issue. Lost my power steering on the way to the city and I haven't gotten it back. What the hell!

That sucks. The only good news is that the dealer should be able to get it fixed....

Havent heard this one before. Did you check the fuses? The power steering is electric.

Very true. Took it to the dealer and they did a software update to fix the issue.

This happened to me last night, called roadside and they towed the car to the dealer.
I have not read the tech story yet but my SA indicates it was a software issue and they have since applied a new update, hopefully get it back tomorrow.

Yeah they had it for me the next day

Roadside was probably the smarter option, I drove it 60 miles back to the dealer without power steering..risky but a hell of a arm workout

Holy, so many issues on the c400, first was the engine shut down issue and now power steering issue. My car is at dealer for a week now looking for a solution to the engine shut down issue. Hopefully they will have a solution for us, they will take my car for a long drive to test it. 150km.

The software update does fix the power steering issue. But for those of you in a jam, just turn off the engine for 5 mins or so and restart, should be fine. Better than getting it towed IMO.

When something like this happens, I rather not drive it as it could be a safety thing, especially on the highway, etc.

They sent a flatbed, my car is lowered (well can be raised) and the tow driver was awesome and cool, even used wood in case I was too low, i personally drove it up the ramp itself.

obviously i didnt know at the time it was software so i didnt take chances
