HUD not working
It was only a amateer of time i guess..
This am at start up no HUD.
Working fine last night after work.
Parked in underground car park.
Checked the HUD on off switch.. duh.. and no response.. checked HUD settings in the settings menu.. all settings remained as they had been..
Tried HUD on off gain.. still nothing.
Dropped kids off at school on way to work and with engine re-start.. BING.. its back...
This is a week after an intermitent failure of PRE-SAFE functions and active lane assist non operational messages.. these cleared 10 mins into a drive (commute)...
Its got its first service (I serviced at mid year) in a afew weeks and once again a long list of "issues"...
Anyone else had wobbly HUD op and any subsequent correction.
I imagine it'll be a software re-set at dealer (again.. 3rd time in a year).. none of this bodes well for out fo warranty owers down the track.. better make sure its not me..

MBWorld Fanatic!
One thing I've learned over the past eight years and three MBs is to never own one out of warranty. Made the mistake of keeping an S500 3k miles past CPO and had to eat a $6k tranny.
Hope they get your gremlins sorted out. Experience tells me to expect more gremlins.

I had a similar/minor hiccup with my HUD a few months ago. Mine became stuck and I had to cycle it a few times before it broke free again and it's been back to normal since. The internal mirror moves/tilts the image away from the screen as it turns on/off, so there's definitely a few moving parts involved in that unit. Intermittent problems like this can be a proverbial pain to confront the dealer with. I'd say if it's behaving itself again normally, just flag it at the next service where they might pick up on some fault codes through an Xentry scan. If it keeps coming up they'll probably just replace the whole unit.

Cheers DBOC2015, I have another list of issues for GCMB dealer again..
I am taking the interior noise on myself though as they simply cannot spend the time to address it properly.. its hard for them to claim the large hrs from factory under warranty etc.. So I'll spend 200 on a dynamat extreme kit and some felt tape, and likley a day taking it apart and then back together properly should nail alot of the isseus down..
Winter is going to be tough eh,..
