2016 Turbo 4 cylinder oil change??
Hi All. I am new to the MB world and I have had my first Mercedes for about 9 months now. It is a 2016 C300 turbo 4 and it is due for its first oil change and I would like to do it myself. I was under the car and I removed the covers from the bottom. I see a small black pan that looks like the oil pan and there is a black oil pan drain plug on the passenger side of the pan. This is the oil pan drain plug correct? Also on the filter it looks like it is the filter cap that is under the plastic engine cover right in front of the motor is this also correct and what size socket do I need to remove it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Why go under the car to change the oil when you can do it from the top? Simply get a vacuum pump made for such things and pump the oil out through the dipstick tube. Google the method and see that no harm will come to your car. As the oil filter sits on top of the engine, it is an easy thing to change. I've treated my two BMWs like this for a total of 14 years (for 7 years n each car after free maintenance was over) and when I sold the cars, the engines purrrrrred.
EDIT: Best price for Mobil 1 synthetic 0W40 (the oil for our cars) is for 5-quart jugs at Walmart. Also, if you google oil filter for c300, I'm pretty sure you will find quality filters for less than what you'll find on Amazon.

Same here, I change my oil mid term and vac out..
its worth every cent to get one..
While its sucking out the oil I switch the filter and the whole job start to finish is 15mins..
Should have got one 10years ago...

Changed mine last weekend and used my mityvac 7201 (ordered from Amazon) to extract the oil. I got the large one, 8.8 liter, when I started chnging the oil on my ML350 Bluetec and it does make the job much easier and cleaner.
The filter cap uses a 27mm socket, or 1 1/16 in socket. Hardest part of the job was probably getting the filter off of the plastic holder under the filter cap. Takes just a little pulling.
I used Mobil1 European Car Formula 0w-40 as it was easy to find. Ordered the filter from Amazon.

Thanks for the responses guys I do appreciate it. I however do not own a vacuum for extraction in this way as I have never changed oil using that method on any other vehicle. I do not really want to buy a pump just to change the oil on this car once every year. I do not mind climbing under the vehicle and just pulling the drain plug as this is how I have changed the oil in vehicles since I was 12 years old. I just wanted to make sure I was pulling the correct plug but it has to be the drain pan plug as it is the one one I see other than the transmission pan plug. I will post back my results with some pictures when I am done. Thanks again guys,

You do it the same way as 15. You will need to pull out the the keyless start button and insert your key.

Yes read the sticky at the top of the section and tried pulling the push button out and putting the key in to turn to position 1. Still did not work but there is some confusion out there as to where position 1 is. Is it the first notch when you turn the key clockwise or the second notch right before the start position?
