yes. it doesn't cost much more. i guess you don't HAVE TO but it's recommended. my brakes always come w/the sensors.

If you are like me, you'll replace your brake pads long before you trip the sensor; and you check pad wear frequently. I disabled the sensors in the front of my car because I didn't have OEM sensors (cheap+lazy). To do so, you need to close the circuit to make the car think that the sensor has not been tripped. You do that by stripping and twisting the wires from the sensor leads. |

I have re-used my originals for about 4 brake pad changes. Looking kind of crusty but they still work.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is this sensor? Just something that is supposed to tell you when to replace your pads? Does it just show up as a malfunction on the display when it's tripped? I have yet to replace my pads....
How many miles are you guys getting on a set of OEM pads?

i switch between race and stret pads very often i don't even insert the sensor just leave it wire tied to the side. i re insert it after i'm done tracking the car for season (nov).
i really don't need the sensor as i know how much pad i have left at any given point.

For your front or rear or both? I have a feeling it's only for the front brake for that mileages but just wondering.
