Thats the problem... it takes up 3/4 of my instrument cluster. I'm all for a bigger tach.

Oh well... I guess I'll live with it.

some dude in texas just had it on his C32 in another post about his CF stuff
I have also seen Sunil's project where he retro fitted a CLK cluster to his C320.

Hon - your best bet is going to be Steve or Sunil.

There are (2) CLK cluster options here: the regular CLK one (black background) and the AMG one (silver background). The AMG one is at least $800 more expensive and not worth it in my opinion.

The complete dashboard needs to come out because you need to install the CLK cluster bracket and can only be reach from the back of it.

Then, after you make your hardware installation, you are going to need programming through the STAR system. This is where you need someone like Sunil or Steve.

Sunil did it for me but it was a nightmare. For some odd reason, we couldn't get the mileage to work properly. The cluster travelled the world for 9 months and nothing could be done to fix the mileage issue. According to Sunil, Joe (jgsx) had succesfully done this mod and it works fine. His is an 03, mine is an 02 and yours is an 04. Maybe it's got something to do with that... I still don't know.

My old cluster was fading and that is why I decided to upgrade it. I can live with the 9999999 miles since I replaced it at 100K miles and I keep an eye on the service intervals anyway. Also, the CLK cluster has some cool features like accurate cruise control adjustment.

Let me know if you need any extra help with part numbers, etc. I have that somewhere.

Something Slow
yep that CLK cluster is nice way better than the W203... i think the Regular CLK Cluster Screen is Alittle Bigger than the AMG one. i would like to get this mod done ASAP but steve or sunil is not coming to my side of the earth anytime soon!

How much was the total cost of parts and install? Also how much time involved to install it?

the cluster should work for 04, but not 02-03 on the mileage. IMO as much as I like a bigger tach/rpm gauge. I don't want to see a giant clock taking up 1/3 the space.

Do you know the actual difference? Updated module maybe? I would really like to know.

Sunil's C320 is an 03 and before he switched to the MOST interface and adapted the W211 cluster he had an 2003 CLK cluster in the old system (ours).

There are 2 drawbacks with my setup: 1) Mileage is currently at 999440 and counting, lol. 2) 160 mph instead of 180 mph. The AMG one goes to 180 mph or maybe 200 mph don't know but definitely not worth the extra grand.
