if the warranty is through mercedes benz not after market and your not a diy'er. I think it might be worth it...depending on how long you plan on keeping the car.

Same crazy prices I saw for warranty. I skipped it, just too much in my opinion. Also, my dealer insisted they had no extended warranty available for the C55 (and I asked while within mine). Amazing a MB dealership can't seem to sell an extended warranty for a MB (a Toyota I could understand).
Plan is to sell in next year, pick up the C63 slightly used after some decent depreciation. At least the rate of depreciation on the 55 has slowed (e.g. might get a 63 $10K cheaper in a year, but my 55 won't be losing the same $10K in that period). PS: At least that is what I tell myself to feel better..... |

Hate to sound pessimistic, but all it's going to take is a few repairs to recoup your initial output. I had $7k in one yr. in warranty repairs. Had a wheel bearing go out once, $2,000 in damage just that visit alone!

EXTENDED WARRANTY
Quote:
I got a quote from a MB dealer for a 7 years 100,000 mile warranty for about $3,800.00. I received the warranty about two weeks later and it was for one year. I did get a full refund after contacting MBUSA. AGREEMENT TYPE/TERM** THE WARRANTY SHOULD HAVE READ 7 YR 100,000 MILES AGREEMENT END DATE*** WAS LEFT BLANK The warranty read 5 YR 100,000 Mile Purchase Price $4,341.25 This is a one year extension to the original warranty. When I questioned the terms after I received the warranty. I was informed that I just ask for a one extension of the original warranty. Note the end date was left blank on the warranty. |
