Quick supercharger question...

As I am still a noob, how many miles does a stock supercharger last?

Reason Im asking, I had a stg 2+ 2001 Audi S4 which had the stock twin turbos. And the turbos on the S4 only lasted about 80k miles before they started shootin out white smoke and had to be replaced. Does a supercharger get worn out like this, or is it a pretty reliable? thanks!

just with any forced induction components that went through high speeds to force air; it is the bearings that take most punishment

the s/c on the c32 runs anywhere from 13000 to 18000 rpms depending on boost levels

mine has been going w/o any probs, bought the car stock at 30000 mi, now at 65000 miles

mine runs on 17 psi with aftermarket pulley which comes with replacement bearings since 50000 miles, however at 50k miles, the orig. bearings are still fine, the new bearings are installed just for peace of mind

the other prob you might encounter with c32 s/c are the electro clutch that controls the kompressor engagement, i haven;t had this probs yet (knock on wood) but search the forums, this topic had been widely discussed by members

good luck

i'm at 84k with supercharger still going strong. My bosch intercooler pump was on its way out...other then that no mechanical problems. unlikethe electronics in the car the supercharger is actually japanese..from a very dependable company. I wish they used japanese electronics too and it would've been perfect.

Mine gave up around 70K. But...the supercharger itself is in top notch shape.
