seat module
Well it was my turn for the seat module failure. I went out to the garage to get something out of the car and it was as dead as can be. I'll probably do the $20 fix that was posted up on here until I can find replacement modules, and just unplugged the modules for both seats for right now. I'm going to miss the heated seat.....

Unplug fuse #27 or #33, they are both 30amps so that way you'll have
the seat you like w/out looking like you're driving a lowrider
Not the best pick but you get the idea
And what's this $20 fix I just read???

I unplugged just the one connector closest to the door, and the car has been fine since. I had the car sitting outside all morning in the wonderful sub-zero winds and it still started up just fine. Thank goodness I can still use the seat warmer.

Freaky behavior from mine today! Everytime I tried to move the seat there was a relay click and rev counter drop to zero, speedo drop to zero, all warning lights on dash on bright. 20 mins later, all back to normal. Reckon I might be having a flat battery one of these mornings.....

PS: I'm on my second attempted seat module replacement (first one was dead) from some shop in Frederick MD. If it doesn't work this time, I will be looking at the hardwire mod.

For example you can use the cig lighter as the trigger so it'll only turn on when you put the car in the second position and turn off when you take out your key.

Got the new seat module, just haven't had time to install it until today.......and it's 5 below zero right now. My car is in the garage, but it still gets cold in there.

just click on my sig. you can just take a relay and get a 12v source as the trigger and turn the seat module off and on with the 12v source.

I've had TWO different seat modules (not new ones) sent to me by a MB salvage shop, and neither one worked at all. It seems kind of strange. They looked like the original unit, and all the plugs were the same. But in both cases, the module was dead. My original module still works -- it just kills the battery. These modules did nothing.

Seems like a easier solution for a lot people. I added the info to the seat module thread.

TemjinX2 can I just pull the fuse instead of disconnecting the seat control module?

You can try and see if it works...
Fuses are:
2, 21, 27 for driver's seat;
1, 22, 38 for passenger's seat.
1 and 2 are in the rear SAM in trunk.
2x and 38 are in the driver's side fuse box.
(If the fuse positions are the same across all W203's that is)
