C32 EATS rear tires
What kind of mileage do you get out of the rear tires? My car seems to eat them in 10-15k miles. What happens is the inside row of tread blocks gets worn down to nothing, while the rest of the tread looks OK.
I have gone to having the tires flipped on the rim every rotation - at around 2500 miles or so, just to get to 15k, but that much mounting and dismounting is hard on the beads.
I paid 2 separate tire shops for 5 consecutive wheel alignments at $100 a pop [because I have an exotic german car] just to be told EVERY SINGLE TIME that my alignment is spot-on, not even off by a 10th of a degree. The problem is the tireshops insist that the alignment is off - when it comes time to treadwear warranty the tire - and in the next breath tell me my alignment is spot on to factory specs.
So, is this a trait of these cars? I am not doing burnouts or drifting around corners, I am just driving fairly normally...

All German cars wear out the inside edge of rear tires because they run negative camber in the rear. Add that to the fact you have a high performance vehicle and you're going to wear out the wires. I got 3k out of Pirelli P-Zeros (worst tire ever) and 8k from Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Pluses (but I took them off before they were completely worn out because I wanted matching tires for the track).

If you run a high end summer tire with 1 deg neg camber you should get even wear. I replace my rear tires once a year (10,000 kms only) and get almost double out of the fronts. I do launch the car hard and enjoy the torque it offers. This is also common kms for the C63 as well. Most treadlife ratings do not apply to us because we run a split fitment. You might want to try the new Michelin Pilot Supersport. They offer a 25,000 kms rating on split fitments. First in the industry.

Look into rear control arm bushings. I was having the same issue where my car was eating the inside part of my rear tires quickly. A mechanic friend showed me a kit that replaced the upper control arm bushings and after doing the swap, I have about 13k miles on my Michelins pilot sport a/s tires. The tread wear is even and they still have a good amount tread left.

Something is wrong if you are getting such low mileage out of rear tires. Did 13k miles on my BFGs and they had '80%' tread when I bought the car. Now they are down to the notch. This treadwear includes occasional fun in empty parking lots as well...

Mine is doing the opposite. I have michelin pilot sport plus all season. I have 18000 on the set. The rear look like they have 70-75% wear left. The fronts are wearing on the outside edge. i noticed it after about 5000 miles.

C32 and tires
Welcome to the tire eating club .
Depending on the thread wear, age of the tires when fitted(and it makes a difference when new tires sit for a few months waiting to be fitted), and last but not least your driving style or how aggressive u drive, you can get that low k on your tire life. I've had this same experience on less aggressive Benz models. The rear tires are always cambered out and the outer threads always give a false sense of aging .

2005 C320 Sport Coupe
Mine had new meats on when I purchased it (last week), it was all over the place, in fact it twerked. A new control arm and an alignment brought it all back together. Maybe someday I'll concern myself with what those tires are...
