now gear won't go any higher than 2nd.... like stuck on 2nd..

oh yeah one more thing i've notice was.. when switching from P to D..

There's more jerk than normal.. like.. it KICKS HARDER..

Are you sure you refilled the trans with correct amount of fluid? Just a thought.

As stated above, you should have the transmission oil level re-checked.

Just spoke to a MB master tech (was having the breather boxes on top of my value covers re-sealed) and thought I'd ask him why you might be having this problem. He said if the trans fluid filter is not installed correctly or pop's off that could cause issues like you are describing. Perhaps the folks who did the service will have to drop the pan and have a look or at least have them run a diagnostic to see if the car is showing any codes.

They said that speed sensor that located inside of tranny gone bad....? Is it possible that they accidently damage speed sensor?? While they change tranny fluid?

possible but I would lean more toward not having enough trans fluid..

To measure correctly, the car has to be in D while measuring....most shops don't do that or know to do that...

Torque convertor holds a decent amount of fluid, and you could easily be a quart low while looking fine when the car is in P

P, not D! My factory shop manual DVD says to check ATF level with the dipstick in P.

its wrong or what you are looking at is incorrect...

I have done trans repairs myself many times...as well as done many rear main seals. The torque convertor holds a lot of fluid.. as well as had the same error when the shop did my trans job and was low on fluid...

It's your call but it's in the factory manual and I tend to believe factory engineers. That, and I won't do anything around a running engine in D.

Thanks for the input..

Diagnosis shown that speed sensor is bad so I had to pay extra $600 to replace those..

Now Car runs smoothly as normal... I hope it doesn't break no more..

and of course shop denies anything to do with it... and it just coincident that sensor went bad at same day that i changed tranny fluid??

I don't know there's no way to prove it..

Tranny oil level has to be checked wile the engine is running and selector MUST be in P position! WIS document also requires to use STAR diagnose to be able to monitor the ATF temperature as it has to 80 DGC (it is important)
