2002 C230 Kompressor Sportcoupe

Had clear sides, 178MM ASP OD, silencer removal, plugs, and custom intake.

Someone rear ended me stopped at light going almost 50MPH. Totaled less than a month after getting back from repairs on another rear end collision not nearly as bad. Gone at 133k miles, and funny to think I just got rid of C32 at same mileage...

I spun a rod bearing within the first 6 months of owning it and wound up rebuilding the engine, this was the start of my mod addiction Bored out the motor and threw in some forged pistons and other goodies. Dumped the Rochester carb and hooked up an Edelbrock 4 barrel. Had a 3" exhaust with flowmasters, the thing was LOUD!!

I was WAY into the sound game as well and had 2 12" alpine R types with a McIntosh amp as well as other amps and component speakers, took 3rd in a competition when I hit 146.7 SPL T tops off and music up you could hear me from BLOCKS away (at least thats what the cops would tell me )

I eventually got into too much trouble and racked up too much $$$$$$$ in tickets and had to sell it

Camaro's are white trash to the max but I sure do miss mine...
mine hit 175DB with that one 12" in the ported box i later built. the one in that video. i was about to do 2 of those too then i decided to go AMG

First car I had was a 1984 Z28 T-Top. Wasnt running when we picked it up. Had to rebuild the motor and a few months later the transmission. Learned a lot on that car. Built the motor mildly ( was 16, on a budget). Paint scheme... primer all through high school. It was ugly!! But it gave me experience on cars that is for sure!

I had a Fiat 124 1800cc sport...great fun when it decided to run...a very temperamental car which exited this world in a fiery demise.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_124_Coup%C3%A9
Then a Mazda Rx3, another regret. Soon after a 1971 Alfa GTV 1750 (105series) which I still have sitting in the folks garage in sunny Queensland.

Those Dart GTS were pretty quick in their day. As I recall they had a 340 4 bbl. Great pic of it.

Thats it, 340 4bbl. It was thought of as a small car. Factory rated at 275 HP. But back then they underated HP. It can respectably hold its own. No way fast by todays standards, but still fun to take out.

We had two Fiat X1/9s that we couldn't seem to kill, once running the '74 out of oil and then filling the crankcase up with petrol when the fuel pump leaked. Both times just refilled the sump with oil and life was grand again. Fiat never could seem to put two wires together and have them conduct electricity most of the time though.

At least they were more reliable than our other Italian cars that had Lucas electrics.

The old muscle cars may be slow but there's nothing like the sound of the secondaries opening up on a 4bbl engine. Maybe BMW can add a .wav file on their new M5.

The Fiat caught fire in the engine bay (long story), being on a semi-remote stretch I had to watch it burn till the fire bridge put it out. It hurt. The GTV I have kept as I love it. Almost each year I'll visit my folks and take her for a run.
Besides some recent rust (did another full body respray 5 years ago) the car is original. (except for the extinguisher in the boot) My brother has a 911 (1969) which he swears that the electrics as have never faulted. This sparked up my evening: http://www.hermit.cc/mania/tmc/articles/lucas.htm

I've always liked the GTVs but the closest I got was a '61 Guilietta Sprint coupe.

I think the last GTV that I saw was in Melbourne a few years back. I'd forgotten how small they are.

Isn't your steering wheel on the wrong side?

I hear ya.

Some stuff hasn't been that accessible. Just a few years ago someone started to repo the hood inserts. I had repaired mine many times till I replaced with these repos. nice copies.

Anyway good luck to ya. Nice to hear some one else keep their 1st and a classic to boot!

Enjoy!
