HELP......Replaced Rear SAM Now No Supercharger & No Fuel Guage.

My 2002 C32 needed a new rear sam as the previous owner jump started it and blew the rear sam causing no boot lid operation and a few rear lights not working etc

so i got a new sam today and fitted it.

all my lights and boot lid etc is working now.

but fuel guage doesnt work.

took it for a drive and there is no supercharger operation.

so i refitted the old sam and drove it and the supercharger and fuel guage is working perfectly again.

obviously i can drive about with my old sam as the rear lights dont work properly.

could this be a configuration issue?

its deff the right sam for my car as i gave all my details to my local benz parts shop to get the right one.

do you think it just needs programmed properly for my car by the mercedes diagnostic computer?

Look at your new Sam and see if it is missing fuses that the old Sam has.

Yeah fuses ok.

Part numbers slightly different but deff the new correct one for my car.

Im going to see the mercedes tecnician tonight as he says the fuel guage needs configured by the star diagnostic computer.

but he is unsure why the supercharger isnt working as there doesnt seem to be a configuration for with/without supercharger.

im hoping by configuring the correct fuel guage type this will get the super charger working again somehow?????

yes you will need it to be programmed..

WOOHOO!

Got it fixed!

Had to program fuel gauge type.

As for supercharger problem....turns out there was a 4 pin relay missing from the new Sam for the charge cooler pump.

Happy Now

Best mate is a techincian at Mercedes but doesn't see many AMG's

So I got his staff discount....

Including tax it was £200
