Mercedes Benz USA will repair my seat heater..For free ! ! !

I'm sure some of you are familiar with the seat heater issues I encountered over the years (in both of my cars). I whined about it for years and I also posted a thread on private lounge ((http://www.mercedes-amg.com/privatel...ad.php?t=41001).

Well, yesterday, I received a phone call from MBUSA. I discussed with a representative for 5-10 minutes about the issue.

Long story short, even though my car is out of factory warranty, MBUSA will repair my seat heater at free of charge.

I really didn't expect this at all and I'm actually quite stunned. They could have just ignore my issue / problem but the company decide to take their time and efforts to correct the error.

Thank you MBUSA and AMG!!

I was actually going to switch side during summer (///M)... Now, I'm actually considering C63 coupe ..

Few updated pics of my C fity

I wonder if we all could get this done, the design of the heated seats are rediculous. How difficult could it be to make heated seats that last. I don't even use them that much and I already have a bad one. Are your rims 18's or 19's?

Where do I start? I'd love to get my heated seat fixed for free. Dealer quoted me an arm and a leg....

I was told that they handle each claims case by case... I may be the fortunate one but who knows? They may do something for you.. I'm just thankful that they listened to me and went above and beyond to correct the issue.

FYI: Local dealer quoted around $500 for part / labor for my slk55.

Screw the heated seats...
They should fix our leaky gas tanks instead of us petitioning the govt to do so

You maybe shouldnt have posted it, now that it's on an online forum they will be bombarded with similar requests and may discontinue good will cases in the future.

Havent seen your car on LMs yet, looks awesome

Just fiy you'll be getting new seat bottom btw because the heating element is attached to the seat bottom. Unfortunately even if the seat back heat element is not working they will only replace the seat bottom because that is where the control unit is.

Frank,
I'm well aware of that I just hope the replacement will last for awhile.. Thanks!

My last replacement lasted less than a year and it didn't get turned on once. It's a less than optimal design, our '88 M5's worked flawlessly for 18 years.

I hear that. The seat heaters on my old '88 Saab 9000 Turbo were functioning well into the early 2000s before I gave the car to my cousin. It's been parked since, but maybe they still work?

So just to confirm, for the seat back part, they will just replace the heating element? Or did you mean, they'll only repair/replace the bottom part and not touch the seat back part?
