well now im really confused cuz SteveNL didnt send me a "fiber" kit, he said I didnt need one.

MBWorld Fanatic!
well got everything about hooked up except I seem to be in need of a 180 deg fiber coupler for the last connection...did you find this problem? Where did you get extra of these parts from?

Curious, I didn't need any additional connectors when I plugged mine in. Instead of a splice connector will the fiber provided in the kit reach to the next component in either direction?

Steve never sent the kit, but i got a spare one from the dealer for $5. The MOST system is back up and running but the VCS doesn't seem to work still...any thoughts? Did you ahve to do anything to configure yours? I attached the VCS in front of the amp in the MOST system, do you remember where in the line you put yours?

What happens when you pull the stalk?

nothing happens when i pull the stalk...after first turning on the car it'll say "Please wait..." on the COMAND screen, but after that nothing at all...and now at time it'll stop playing sound and my TEL menu under the instrument cluster will be stuck saying "activat. phone" but my phone isn't being used etc...but if i lock the car and come back 5 min later it'll all work just fine...
again doesn't always do this, but sometimes its been doing it since adding the VCS to the MOST

I think I'd double check the fiber ring configuration. There are too many different systems acting up.
From here:
http://www.mercedestechstore.com/pdf...2007-01-04.pdf
Configuration & Version Coding
• In order for the ring to function properly, the master MUST know the
number of components on the ring and ORDER of those components
with respect to the master.
NOTE: Improper version coding and / or incorrect sequencing of
components may result in intermittent and / or abnormal
operation of the ring.
Having said that, I can't find the ring configuration that I used to tell for certain what it should be. I wish that there was a diagnostic that mere mortals could run on the loop but I think it's a dealer-only thing unless you can find a shop with a STAR machine.

Recently got my Thermotronic control unit in too. Works just like the standard one except of course the extra Charcoal filter button. Wish I still had the 'Rest' Mode in this car.
If anyone wants to know the Part# is A2038304485. I know some work and some don't. This unit came from a 2009 CLK350/

Reviving a quite old thread...but what is needed to fit the carbon filters (other than the filters themselves which are easy and cheap to get). Is it just a case of popping them into a void place under the glovebox and that's it?
Also for the sunlight sensor what do you just plug in and voila?

I think you are on the wrong thread. This thread refers to the Voice Control module and linguantronic system, nothing to do with carbon filters and sunlight sensor...

MY2005 w203 C230
Hi,
Can someone please validate these parts to work in a MY'05 w203 C230?
Furthermore, can someone indicate which is the NEWEST/USEFUL as I would like radio, phone and nav (as I read those are the only options).
Thank you in advance!
Jake
These are the parts I have found;
Lever-00 545 10 44
Modules (and this is where I need the HELP!);
209 820 1385
203 820 5785
203 820 6785
203 820 7585 (I read some say this is the most up-to-date unit to use)
203 820 8285 (NOT listed for the w203 from what I can find, MAY superseded 7585 and is used in 2008 GL320)
211 820 6226
211 820 6285 (NOT listed for the w203 from what I can find but seems to naturally preceed the next listing for the w203. 6285 is used in 2004 E320)
211 820 7585
ANY help and clarification/accurate info would be GREAT! And APPRECIATED!!!
Thanks,
Jake

Jake-
This subject always surfaces when my car is in storage. I don't have in/out privileges, and I don't plan on getting it for another 4 weeks. The lever you found I believe is correct. The ECU correct part number should be the 209 820 1385. If you try to order the 203 820 7585 it points to the 209...1385. All, or most of, the numbers that you listed are in EPCNET for ROW (rest of world) C55 AMG models. None of this will show as valid for a USA VIN C55 in EPCNET. All of the numbers consolidate to the ...1385 and ...7585, but only the ...1385 shows available. It's pricey too - $1,290. I paid less than $200, but that was years ago. I did the install myself, don't recall needing any wiring or additional MOST connectors. But it was trial and error to make sure that the M-Brace, Telephone and VCS all worked correctly.
Thanks,
Ken.

Here are OLD screen grabs I took when my EPC was working (whole other issue for me to solve...) on my 203.040 vehicle...
I will update once I have more info...
