I want that radio...looks like I can find some for a decent price in the $300 range. How difficult was it to get all the fiber optic crap sorted out? I may have to ask you for some help with my install...

Looking at the product details, does the HU have Nav? I don't see anything about Nav in the details...

Since I'm abandoning the entire stock setup, I just unplugged all the MOST connections and left them. I haven't done the research about steering wheel controls yet, but it's no big deal to me to not have them.
For navigation, the unit uses the included GPS antenna and Nav apps like Waze, IGo and so on. That is the only potential drawback I could see, poor nav performance in areas with poor cell coverage. There are some good vids on Youtube (including Duncan64 from here, thanks Duncan!).
And glad to help any way I can, if you are coming to MIR this w/e you can check it out there

Sweet man, I will definitely be at MIR.
We are cruising down early, meeting at Marie's Diner in La Plata right off 301 for breakfast at 6:45am. Bryan and I rolling from Nova over the beltway to route 5 to 301, Jake comes down, our paths cross at 5 and 301 in Brandywine. You should time your ride too to get there and we can all cruise together in a pack. Hoping a C63 and E63 from my area will come as well.

Yeah, I jumped on them when they came up for sale
Seriously, we have high 11's potential still N/A. I ran (6) 12.1's last time out. This time hopefully between the great weather, the TCU tune, race gas and Evosport UDP's will be enough to at least nail a 12.0 this time out. My push for 11's will really be next spring though!

Well hopefully by the end of next month I'll be in the 11's with my hps kit. I'm doing a gen 2 with an m112. I've managed to find a solution to the lean issues! Even then I'm sure I'll be looking for even more power. Kleemann cams look to be the next best thing. I've heard of people swapping to the slr cams. I read that they are the most aggressive cams for these na 55's. Can anyone confirm that?

Gates are opening at 8am.
Our paths all cross at route 5 and route 301 in Brandywine. Talked to Jake and Bryan already about meeting at the BP in Brandywine at 6:15: 14807 Crain Hwy
Brandywine, MD 20613
Diner is about 20 mins from the BP, Marie's Diner: 6325 Crain Hwy
La Plata, MD 20646
Now that you've got that fancy new nav up and running you can use it to get there

Nice! Looking forward to hearing about it, do you have a build thread?
As for the cams, general concensus over in the E55 section is that in order from mild to aggressive it's SLR, Kleemann, VRP/PTE. Plenty of good reading, but as no one has measured or released the actual specs for the PTE's who knows

No nav just yet, I've been sidetracked with work and family so I still need to find the particular Samsung adapter that I need.
I realized I was running out of time to get everything ready for MIR so I took them in to my indy and to get a few other things done yesterday. Bad news is I now have a P0171 lean bank 1 code. Fingers crossed it's just a bad O2 sensor. I'm dying because tomorrow is going to have amazing DA, so I'm taking it back to have them look at a few things, but if they can't find the cause I'm just spectating tomorrow
Short answer, not on yet, but I'll let you know when they are.
Also, they mentioned that the elastomeric on the AMS crank pulley was looking a little off. I'll find out more later today...setting myself up for a MAJOR disappointment though. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

My AMS pulley wore out after 4 to 5 years. The elastomeric failed, caused a wobble and a whole lot of squeaking. MB redesigned the OE crank pulley for the C55, so I had the new MB pulley installed. No problems at all; it works just as well as the AMS pulley and will probably last forever. Went back to stock accessory drive pulleys as well. No discernible difference for my driving. I don't race though or hang out at the drag strip.

Wow, can't believe I haven't posted here in so long!
Just picked up a few things over the past few months.
First, a set of 18" PF01's with 245 and 275 PSS. Might rub, but wheel widths aren't maxed so sectional width is slightly reduced. Came off an SLK55 so we will see soon. Pics to follow when it warms a little!
Second, a 1995 Polar White C36 with 101K miles! Pics to follow on that one too
